The essentials: the Esprit Boxe folding octagonal MMA cage in 5 × 5 m / 16 ft 5 in, a full octagon of 8 panels 1.90 m / 6 ft 3 in high including one gate panel, mounted on removable castors, to rent in French-speaking Switzerland, with or without the 4 cm / 1.6 in Flexi-Roll mat. Four rates: CHF 600 per day and CHF 950 for a weekend without the mat, CHF 700 and CHF 1,100 with the Flexi-Roll. Galvanised steel structure, CE certified and compliant with EN ISO 20957-1:2023. Collection and return at the depot by you.
Eight sides is a deliberate compromise: the square belongs to boxing, the circle to wrestling, and the octagon gives neither of the two disciplines MMA brings together an advantage. The fence completes the idea by removing the risk of slipping between the ropes on a takedown.
This is a full training octagon, not a display structure: galvanised steel, 50 × 50 mm / 2 × 2 in mesh in 4.5 mm / 0.18 in wire, reinforced tubular frames wrapped in foam and laced faux leather, and a gate panel. It opens and folds in minutes on its castors, which makes it transportable for a gala, a seminar, an inter-club, a film shoot or an open day in French-speaking Switzerland, without committing to a purchase.
With or without the Flexi-Roll mat
Both formulas give you the same cage. What changes is the floor inside the octagon.
- Without a floor mat — the cage sits on the existing surface. This is the option for a venue already fitted with tatami or Flexi-Roll, and it makes the transport lighter.
- With the Flexi-Roll mat — 4 cm / 1.6 in thick, density 60 kg/m³ / 3.7 lb per cu ft, pre-cut to the octagon. 4 cm is the thickness used for MMA, where fighters go down and work on the ground: this is the option as soon as the venue has a hard floor, concrete, tiles or boards.
To rent, the option adds CHF 100 to the day rate and CHF 150 to the weekend.
Two durations, collection at the depot
All four rates cover the same service: you collect the cage at the depot, open it on your site, and bring it back once the event is over.
- Day rate — for a gala, a club night, a demonstration or an open day.
- Weekend rate — for a two-day tournament, or to have Saturday morning for the set-up and Monday for the return.
Before you book: folded, the cage forms two trains of four panels that roll on their castors, 1.90 m / 6 ft 3 in high. Opening and folding are two-person jobs. Where: French-speaking Switzerland
Rental is offered in French-speaking Switzerland only: Geneva, Vaud, Valais, Fribourg, Neuchâtel and Jura. The depot sits inside that area, which makes collection a same-day round trip from any of those cantons.

How much floor space you need on site
Start from the footprint of the octagon, 5 × 5 m / 16 ft 5 in, then add 1 m / 3 ft 3 in of clearance on each side for circulation and for the gate to swing: that brings the free floor to 7 × 7 m / 23 ft. On height, the panels stand 1.90 m / 6 ft 3 in, plus clearance above. The floor needs to be flat and stable; the cage is free-standing and needs no drilling.
Opening and folding
The cage arrives as two trains of four linked panels, standing on their removable castors. You roll them to the spot, open both trains to form the octagon and lock the connectors: the whole thing takes minutes, with two people and no tools. Folding follows the same route in reverse and the cage stores along a wall.

Do you need the Flexi-Roll mat?
It depends on the floor at your venue. On concrete, tiles or boards, the 4 cm / 1.6 in Flexi-Roll at 60 kg/m³ / 3.7 lb per cu ft brings the cushioning that MMA ground work calls for. In a venue already fitted with tatami or Flexi-Roll, the option without a mat is enough and makes the transport lighter. The mat is pre-cut to the octagon and rolls out inside before the panels are locked.
Is the cage compliant for an official gala?
The structure is CE certified and built in line with Directive (EU) 2023/988 and EN ISO 20957-1:2023. Set at floor level, it suits galas, seminars, inter-clubs and demonstrations. Professional competition is fought on a raised cage: for that format, the competition cage and the platform cage are the right models. Check the requirements of your event with your federation.
