📏 Boxing shoe size chart: EU, US, UK and foot length
Most retailers answer the sizing question with « order a size up » and leave it there. The reliable method takes two steps: measure your foot in centimetres, standing, in the evening, heel against a wall. Then read the row below. Our shoes are labelled in European sizes, and the European scale is built on the formula (3 × foot length in cm + 4) / 2 — a 26 cm foot is a 41, a 28 cm foot is a 44.
| Foot length | Inches | EU | US men | US women | UK |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 22.0 cm | 8.7 in | 35 | 4 | 5 | 3.5 |
| 22.7 cm | 8.9 in | 36 | 5 | 6 | 4.5 |
| 23.3 cm | 9.2 in | 37 | 5.5 | 6.5 | 5 |
| 24.0 cm | 9.4 in | 38 | 6.5 | 7.5 | 6 |
| 24.7 cm | 9.7 in | 39 | 7 | 8 | 6.5 |
| 25.3 cm | 10.0 in | 40 | 8 | 9 | 7.5 |
| 26.0 cm | 10.2 in | 41 | 8.5 | 9.5 | 8 |
| 26.7 cm | 10.5 in | 42 | 9.5 | 10.5 | 9 |
| 27.3 cm | 10.7 in | 43 | 10 | 11 | 9.5 |
| 28.0 cm | 11.0 in | 44 | 11 | 12 | 10.5 |
| 28.7 cm | 11.3 in | 45 | 12 | 13 | 11.5 |
| 29.3 cm | 11.5 in | 46 | 12.5 | 13.5 | 12 |
| 30.0 cm | 11.8 in | 47 | 13.5 | 14.5 | 13 |
Read the foot length column first. US and UK figures are derived from the Brannock formula (US men = foot length in inches × 3 − 22; US women add one full size). Published charts disagree by up to a full size on the UK column — some set UK at half a size below US men, others at a full size. The centimetre measurement is the only figure that means the same thing everywhere, which is why it leads this table.
One whole European size is 6.7 mm of foot length, a third of an inch. If your measurement falls between two rows, four models carry half sizes: the blue pair, the strap model, the yellow pair and the blue and white model. Otherwise take the size up: a thin sock recovers a few millimetres, the reverse does not work.
🥊 Low top, mid top, high top: what the cut changes
| Cut | Upper height | What it gives you |
|---|---|---|
| Low top | Stops at the ankle bone | Free rotation, fast pivot, lighter foot |
| Mid top | A few centimetres above the ankle bone | Lateral support with the range of motion kept |
| High top | Up to the calf | Full ankle lock-in |
This collection holds the low cuts. For a more enveloping hold, the mid tops and the high tops complete the range. One exception sits here: the blue and white model rises above the ankle bone and belongs with the semi-high cuts.
👟 The 17 models
By colour. Black in full suede-look black, white in three colourways from EU 36 to 46, red on the only grid that opens at EU 35, blue with a strap and half sizes, yellow with four half sizes, grey with holographic panels, neon green to find your bag in a busy changing room.
By colour pairing. Black and white across eleven sizes with no gap, red and blue on the same last, red and black on a full red sole, blue and red in five colourways including two galaxy prints, blue and white with three stripes and a gum sole.
By sole. Pivot sole with two concentric disc plates, gum sole in natural caramel rubber, the pro model with a clear unit under heel and forefoot, and the English boxing model, the only one in the collection with a removable insole — so the only one that takes a custom orthotic.
🔍 What to look at before buying
Sole thickness. The industry marker is 2 to 5 mm at the forefoot, flat, with no heel lift. Above that the foot sits raised and contact with the canvas loses precision.
Tread. None of these soles carries a lug. Aggressive tread grips the canvas instead of letting it release, and blocks the pivot at the wrong moment. The patterns used here are circular, ribbed or hexagonal.
Rubber colour. Gum is natural rubber with no carbon black: it grips harder on canvas, tatami and hardwood. Black rubber is carbon-loaded and takes abrasion better. The first for indoor work, the second for wider use.
Closure. Laces set the volume; a hook-and-loop strap locks the instep and can be pulled tighter mid-session with your hands still wrapped. Seven models in the collection have one.
❓ Frequently asked questions
What size boxing shoes should I get?
Measure your foot in centimetres, standing, in the evening, heel against a wall, then read the chart above. A 26 cm foot is an EU 41, around a US men's 8.5. A 28 cm foot is an EU 44, around a US men's 11. The table gives all 13 rows from EU 35 to 47.
Do boxing shoes run big or small?
Boxing shoes are cut close by design — the foot has to sit still inside the shoe when you push off. These are labelled in European sizes on a standard last, so take your usual European size. If your measurement lands between two rows, take the size up: a thin sock recovers a few millimetres of length, and four models offer half sizes.
What is the difference between low top and high top boxing shoes?
Upper height. A low top stops at the ankle bone and leaves the joint free to rotate. A high top runs up to the calf and locks the ankle laterally. In between, mid tops clear the ankle bone by a few centimetres.
Can you box in running shoes?
A running or street sneaker sole is thick, raised at the heel and often lugged: it moves the centre of gravity back, delays the push-off and grabs the canvas during rotation. A boxing shoe works the other way — flat, thin, smooth, with an upper that holds the foot with no play.
How thick should a boxing shoe sole be?
The market reference is 2 to 5 mm at the forefoot, flat and with no heel lift. That is what lets you feel the canvas and correct your balance in real time while striking.
Why do some boxing shoes have gum soles?
Because the rubber is natural and unloaded with carbon black, so it keeps its original amber colour. That compound grips smooth surfaces — ring canvas, tatami, hardwood — better than black rubber, which is compounded first for outdoor abrasion. Climbing and handball shoes use gum for the same reason.
Are boxing shoes unisex?
Yes. The last is unisex and the scale is in European sizes, so a woman who wears an EU 39 in the street takes an EU 39 here — a US women's 8. The collection runs EU 35 to 47 depending on the model, which covers US men's 4 to 13.5.
How do you clean boxing shoes?
A damp cloth over upper and sole after every session. Laces washed separately, by hand. Air-dry, never on a radiator: direct heat stiffens the construction adhesives. Suede-look uppers are brushed dry, without soapy water.
