A fight short is not a shortened sports short. Its length, the height of its waistband and the presence or absence of side splits each answer a precise movement constraint, different depending on whether you strike with fists, with legs, or work on the ground. That is the first thing to understand before choosing.
🥊 Three cuts, three uses
This is the question beginners ask most. The answer is in the leg length and the type of waistband.
| Cut | Length and waistband | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Muay Thai | Above the knee, high hip cut, wide elastic waistband | Frees the high kick and the clinch, keeps the knee visible so low kicks are not landed on it |
| MMA fight short | To just above the knee, side splits, flat drawcord waistband | Allows a closed guard and leg passing; the waistband holds when an opponent pulls on it |
| English boxing | More covering, wide elastic waistband above the navel | The waistband marks the legal low limit for punches, a reference point for the referee |
The Country shorts in this collection use the Muay Thai cut: they suit Muay Thai, kickboxing, K-1, MMA training and English boxing alike.
🌍 The 34 Country shorts
A flag in a ring does one job: it lets you tell where a fighter comes from, from the back row of the hall. Every page tells a boxing story specific to that country, dated and sourced.
Europe — France, where Marcel Cerdan had a country listening to a fight at four in the morning in 1948 · Belgium and the stonecutter who faced Muhammad Ali · Switzerland and Fritz Chervet in front of 11,000 people in Zurich · Italy, where Nino Benvenuti finished ahead of Cassius Clay at the Rome Games · England and the Marquess of Queensberry rules · Spain and its Plus Ultra motto · Portugal and its armillary sphere · Ireland, the most decorated nation in Olympic boxing · Netherlands and Ramon Dekkers · Poland, Serbia, Croatia, Albania, Russia, Ukraine.
Africa and the Maghreb — Algeria and Hocine Soltani, the first Arab boxer to become Olympic champion · Morocco and the Achik brothers · Cameroon and Francis Ngannou, who started out working a sand quarry · Congo, host of the most famous fight in history · Nigeria and Dick Tiger.
The Americas — Mexico and the attendance record at the Estadio Azteca · USA and the rope-a-dope · Brazil and the birth of modern MMA · Puerto Rico, sixty world champions for three million inhabitants · Chile and Arturo Godoy against Joe Louis.
Asia and the Middle East — Thailand, the birthplace of Muay Thai · Philippines and Manny Pacquiao, the only world champion in eight weight classes · Cambodia and Kun Khmer · Nepal and the only non-rectangular national flag in the world · Kazakhstan and Gennady Golovkin · Turkey and the oldest sporting competition still held today · Israel, Palestine, Afghanistan.
🐍 MMA fight shorts
Thirty-two models, long cut with side splits, printed by sublimation into the fibre. The animal designs are not interchangeable: each refers to a fighting style.
| Design | What it stands for | Models |
|---|---|---|
| Wolf | Endurance and the pack — the fighter who builds a win in the late rounds | icy, fire, painted, Brazil |
| Cobra | The counter-attack — it rises, takes the space and strikes on the commitment | green, red, blue and green |
| Bull | Forward pressure — cutting the cage, forcing the opponent back | bull |
| Gorilla | Power in close quarters, the grappler's profile | black and white, calavera |
| Big cats | Frontal attack, the bone strength of animal styles | tiger, multicolour lion |
Warrior imagery and culture — samurai and oni mask · warrior in black on black · warrior in red and black · Asian dragon · China Power and sanda · giant monster · Mexican calavera · No Mercy.
Without a figure, for those who prefer it — geometric grey and geometric red · tone-on-tone skull · large lettering · camouflage.
Fanged logo, five backgrounds — black, white, brick red, grey camouflage, black and red hexagonal.
Official and kids — official UFC short in 7 colourways · the International Fight Week model · kids fight short from XXS to L, same construction as the adult models.
🇹🇭 Muay Thai shorts
Sixteen models in the traditional cut. The leg cut into pointed panels is not decorative: a closed leg slows the kick and pulls on the thigh at the moment of the check.
Panelled cut — the four-panel model with gold trim in 9 colourways · the five-panel version with stars, the most open cut in the collection.
Traditional ornament — the gold scrollwork and Thai script in 9 colourways · the gold wings of the most ornate model · the black and gold competition version · the large gold logo on black.
Two-tone and dragons — red and green, yellow and green, green and brown · red and gold dragon and black and gold dragon.
Thai brand — the Fairtex in black or white, red and pink models run longer than the average Thai short, which suits anyone who finds very short cuts uncomfortable. And the Hit Hard for large lettering without ornament.
🥇 The house range and ring-walk kit
The Esprit Boxe plain short is solid, in white or black: it is the model that takes flocking and embroidery, which a print makes impossible. The 2.0 adds a wide contrast waistband in three colourways, including an orange found nowhere else in the collection.
For shows and ring walks: the fringed short in four colourways, and the Mexican velvet short — the only matte-finish model in the collection, in the tradition of Mexican fight-night kit.
✏️ Club and gym customisation
Two references carry a name, a club or a logo by sublimation, straight into the fibre: the complete English boxing kit — shorts and vest, one price covering both pieces — and the custom fringed short. For clubs, sublimation lets a whole batch be produced in the same design, in every size from XS to 4XL.
Good to know: in amateur boxing the regulation outfit is two pieces, shorts and vest — unlike the professional ranks where the torso is bare, and unlike Muay Thai where only the shorts are worn.
🏃 Training outside the ring
A boxer does not spend all their time in the ring. Strength work, running and warm-ups make up a good part of the weekly volume, and a fight short has no pockets — that is a safety requirement on the ground. The mesh sports short brings two zip pockets for the weights room, the 2-in-1 short has a built-in inner short that prevents chafing on long sessions, and the three-quarter short covers the thigh during warm-ups. Also: the cargo short, the swim short and the boxer briefs.

❓ Frequently asked questions
What size boxing shorts should I choose?
European cut — take your usual size. There is no Asian sizing conversion to apply here, unlike most Thai-made fight wear. If you normally buy US sizes, be aware that American sizing generally runs more generous: it is worth considering one size up from your EU size if you want a relaxed fit. This matters, because Thai-made shorts run small and most guides tell you to size up — that is not the case here. Eight sizes, from XS to 4XL, where most retailers stop at XXL. If you wear a groin guard, take the size above.
What is the difference between boxing, Muay Thai and MMA shorts?
Length and waistband. The Muay Thai short stops above the knee, with a high cut that frees the kick and the clinch and keeps the knee visible. The MMA fight short goes lower, with side splits for ground work and a flat drawcord waistband that holds when an opponent pulls on it. The English boxing short has a wide elastic waistband above the navel: it marks the legal low limit for punches.
Do you have boxing shorts in large sizes?
Yes. The whole collection runs to 4XL at the same price as every other size, and starts at XS. That is a range few retailers offer on fight shorts, most stopping at XXL.
Are these shorts suitable for women?
Yes. The cut is identical for men and women, only the size changes, and the range starts at XS. Several models come in pink, including the Fairtex pink, the panelled Thai short and the traditional design.
Can these shorts be worn in amateur competition?
The rules usually require the colour of your assigned corner, red or blue. Check with your club before an official bout. In amateur boxing the outfit is also two pieces, shorts and vest: see the custom kit.
Can shorts be customised with a club name?
Yes, in two ways. The custom kit and the custom fringed short carry the name or logo by sublimation, directly in the fibre. The plain Esprit Boxe short takes flocking and embroidery if you want to do it yourself.
How do I care for printed boxing shorts?
Machine wash at 30 °C inside out, no tumble dryer, and never put an iron directly on the print. On polyester models avoid fabric softener: it clogs the fibres and kills the moisture-wicking. Sublimated prints are inside the fibre and will not crack.
Where do you ship?
Free standard shipping across Europe, and worldwide delivery including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia. Items in stock leave quickly; customised shorts ship once your mock-up is approved.
