The essentials: all-black low-top boxing shoes, matt suede-look panels on the toe, sides and heel, quilted panel on the quarter and a gold star badge. Black sole with a dense stud pattern. 4 sizes: EU 37, 38, 44 and 46. €69, free shipping.
Plain dark kit is what most clubs and federations ask for in amateur competition, and plain black is the safe answer: it goes with any shorts, any corner vest, and it does not date from one season to the next.
All black is a club choice before it is a style choice
It is also the colour that ages best on the eye. Mat resin, gym dust and bag friction show less on a matt black upper than on a light one. The only point of colour on this model is a small gold star badge on the outer quarter.
What it looks like
Everything is black: upper, laces, sole, heel counter. The toe, side and heel panels have a matt, velvety suede-look surface; the central quarter panel is quilted in diamonds; parallel stitching structures the forefoot. The collar sits at ankle height, slightly higher at the back, with a pull tab. Underneath, the sole is flat with a dense stud pattern and no pronounced cleats.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose my boxing shoe size?
A boxing shoe should fit closer than a street shoe: no play at the heel, toes just short of the end. Measure your foot in the evening, when it is at its largest, and take your usual EU size unless you are between two — then size up.
What is the difference between low-top and high-top boxing shoes?
The collar height. A low-top sits at or just above the ankle bone and leaves the foot free for pivots and footwork. A high-top wraps several centimetres up the calf and braces the ankle, which suits boxers who plant their feet to punch.
Why is suede common on combat sports shoes?
A matt napped surface grips the floor slightly better than a smooth coated one, and it hides scuffs. It is also what gives the shoe its flat, non-reflective look under ring lights.
How do you clean boxing shoes?
A damp cloth on the upper and the sole after each session. Wash the laces separately by hand, air-dry with the insole taken out, and never on a radiator: direct heat stiffens the assembly glue.
Are boxing shoes suitable for MMA, kickboxing or savate?
For kickboxing and savate, yes. MMA is fought barefoot, so shoes are for training only.
What boxing shoe sizes are available?
Four on this colourway: EU 37, 38, 44 and 46 (UK 4, 5, 9.5 and 11.5).
