Gum sole boxing shoes

The essentials: low-top boxing shoes on a full gum rubber sole, the grippiest option on ring canvas and gym flooring. Two colourways: black and gold, red and gold. Mesh upper with a gold winged logo. 8 sizes, EU 39 to 46 (UK 5.5 to 11.5). €99, free shipping.
Gum rubber is that colour because it is left as it comes: natural rubber without the carbon black that turns other soles grey and black. Leaving it out costs abrasion resistance outdoors and buys grip indoors.
Gum rubber, and why it is that colour
Carbon black is the additive that protects a sole against tarmac. A gum sole leaves it out, which is exactly what makes it tackier on canvas, parquet and mat — and what makes it an indoor compound. It also leaves no streak on a light floor.
What it looks like
Mesh with matt panels and a gold winged logo on the side. The sole is gum across the full surface, with a hexagonal relief and a pivot plate.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose my boxing shoe size?
A boxing shoe should fit closer than a street shoe: no play at the heel, toes just short of the end. Measure your foot in the evening, when it is at its largest, and take your usual EU size unless you are between two — then size up.
Why are combat sports soles often gum coloured?
Because gum rubber is natural rubber without carbon black. That additive protects against outdoor abrasion but costs grip; leaving it out is what makes the compound tacky on canvas and mat.
How thick should a boxing shoe sole be?
Thin and flat. A boxing sole keeps you close to the floor so you feel the ground and pivot cleanly; a thick cushioned midsole raises the centre of gravity and costs stability.
What is the difference between low-top and high-top boxing shoes?
The collar height. A low-top sits at or just above the ankle bone and leaves the foot free for pivots and footwork. A high-top wraps several centimetres up the calf and braces the ankle, which suits boxers who plant their feet to punch.
Are boxing shoes suitable for MMA, kickboxing or savate?
For kickboxing and savate, yes — the flat sole and the low collar suit both. MMA is fought barefoot, so shoes are for training only.
Which floors does a gum sole grip best on?
Indoors: ring canvas, parquet and mat, where natural rubber gives the sharpest grip and leaves no mark on a light floor. It is an indoor compound — outdoors, a black carbon-loaded sole is the tool for the job.
