Mounir Out Maghoust: family and friends as the foundation
It starts in 2020, with the official recognition of MMA in France. Mounir Out Maghoust saw in that legalisation a unique opportunity: to develop MMA and its values in his own town. What set his project apart from the outset was how he built it — not alone, but surrounded by long-standing friends and by his family. People he trusts, who share the same vision, and who committed fully to the venture.
Together they founded Panthera Academy MMA in October 2022, at 18 rue Léon Gambetta, in the heart of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux. A family and community project, in the strongest sense of the term.
A team of specialists — not coaches, experts
What strikes you immediately at Panthera Academy is the quality of the coaching. Mounir Out Maghoust did not want a general club run by a single all-purpose coach. He assembled a genuine team of specialists, each an expert in their discipline:
- Farid Izeddaghen — striking specialist
- Sofiane Dali Youcef — striking specialist
- Zine-Eddine — striking specialist
- Yanis Gherdane — MMA specialist
- Malik Oulmi — boxing specialist
- Tarik Seraiche — boxing specialist
- Jaquy Beun — grappler
- Bruno — wrestling specialist, who has coached European champions
- And other coaches according to the disciplines and the needs
Every member therefore gets coaching genuinely matched to their discipline and their level. That is not a luxury — it is a necessary condition for progressing properly and safely.
A club doctor — because safety is not negotiable
This is perhaps the detail that says everything about how seriously Panthera Academy takes its work: the club has a dedicated doctor, Samy, integrated into the team. In the vast majority of combat sports clubs, the medical question is handled after the fact — after the injury, after the incident. At Panthera Academy it is anticipated, supervised and built into how the club runs.
It is that approach — quality training, high-level technical coaching and medical follow-up — that lets members progress without taking unnecessary risks. From the 16-year-old beginner to the athlete preparing for competition, everyone trains in a framework designed around their safety.
Salim Aït Nacer: honorary member
Salim Aït Nacer, Muay Thai world champion, agreed to join Panthera Academy as an honorary member. A recognition that speaks to the quality of the project led by Mounir Out Maghoust — champions do not attach their name to just any club.
His presence, even symbolic, brings immediate credibility and legitimacy. And his expertise is a constant reference for the coaches and members of the gym.
Our partnership with Panthera Academy MMA
Esprit Boxe and Panthera Academy share the same conviction: the equipment must match the coaching. That is the spirit in which our collaboration began.
We had the privilege of supplying a folding MMA cage with floor mats — a professional installation that turned the gym into a fight space worthy of the biggest organisations. As part of our partnership we also sent several fighters a selection of Esprit Boxe equipment to test: MMA gloves, shin guards and mouthguards. Feedback from the floor counts for more than any sales argument.
