Hanging up the gloves comes from a real gesture
When a boxer ends his career he hangs his gloves by the laces in the gym where he trained. Rocky Marciano did it in 1956, the only heavyweight world champion to retire undefeated: 49 fights, 49 wins, 43 inside the distance, announced on 27 April 1956, at 32. This sign takes that image exactly: the pair at rest, hung up.

What the visual shows
Two boxing gloves seen face on, one in front of the other, hanging from a lace knotted in a loop that runs to the top of the piece. The wrist of the front glove carries a three-line tightening strap. The drawing is a continuous LED rope on an acrylic backing cut to the outline. The hanging hole is drilled through the loop of the lace.
In the pink and blue version each glove takes its own shade; the other four colourways are single colour.
Technical specifications
Good to know. One fixing point is enough: the hanging hole is drilled through the loop of the lace and the piece is light. Allow a USB socket within reach of the cable, or a USB extension if the hanging point is high up.

Frequently asked questions
How do you hang an LED neon on a wall?
This model has a built-in hanging hole: one screw or nail in the wall and the piece hangs from it. For the large formats drilled all round the edge, allow one fixing point every 30 to 40 cm / 12 to 16 in.
What exactly is the size?
40 cm high by 28 cm wide / 16 by 11 in. That is the format that fits above a desk, a headboard or in a bedroom corner. For a living room or home-gym wall, the boxing gloves neon sign carries the same theme as a major wall piece.
Why do people say a boxer hangs up his gloves?
Because a boxer who stops really does hang his pair in his gym. Rocky Marciano did it on 27 April 1956 with a record of 49 wins in 49 fights, unique in heavyweight history.
Can it be plugged into a wall socket?
Yes, through any USB adapter: a phone charger, a USB strip or a computer port. The stated draw is 5 W.
Is it suitable for a child's bedroom?
Yes. LED flex does not heat up and the light is steady. The pink and blue colourway gives one shade per glove; the other four are single colour.
