Eight ounces in the pros, sixteen in training
Glove weight is measured in ounces, one ounce being about 28 grams. In professional boxing, divisions up to welterweight fight in 8 oz, heavier divisions in 10 oz. In training you go the other way, to 14 or 16 oz: more padding, less impact for the hands and for the partner. A boxer therefore rarely owns a single pair — and gloves almost always end up hanging by their laces, as in this engraving.
What the visual shows

Power and settings
These lamps run on very low voltage. Two ways to power them:
Settings are made by successive taps on the touch base: one tap switches on, each further tap changes shade, and a tap after the last colour starts the automatic cycle. A long press of about three seconds switches the lamp off.
Before the first switch-on, remove the protective film stuck to both faces of the acrylic panel: the engraving is markedly brighter without it.
Technical specifications
Good to know. On a night table, a fixed colour in warm white or blue gives enough light to find your way without waking anyone. Keep the automatic cycle for evenings, where it shifts shade continuously.

How does an acrylic 3D lamp work?
The panel is laser engraved through its thickness, then lit from the edge by the base. Only the engraved lines light up; the rest of the panel stays clear, so the drawing appears to float above the base.
Do I need a mains adapter?
The USB cable is supplied, the wall plug is not. Any phone charger, USB strip or computer port will do. The alternative is 3 AA batteries in the base, and no cable at all.
What glove weight should a beginner choose?
For gym training, 14 or 16 oz depending on build: the thicker the padding, the more the hands and the partner are protected. Professional bouts up to welterweight use 8 oz, heavier divisions 10 oz.
Is it suitable for a child's bedroom?
Yes. The LED does not heat up and the light stays soft. For a room with no socket nearby, battery power leaves no trailing cable; the wooden boxing night light gives a fixed warm white light in a wooden frame.
Can it be given as a gift, boxed?
