In short: China has a full-contact discipline of its own, sanda, where you strike, throw, and can put an opponent off the platform. Red and black fight short with a kicking silhouette and lettering. 8 sizes, XS to 4XL. €39.
Sanda, or kung fu taken to contact
Sanda — also called sanshou — is the free-fighting form of Chinese wushu. It has the hands and kicks of kickboxing, but also throws and sweeps, which puts it close to standing MMA.
What makes it its own thing is the surface: competition is fought on a raised platform, the lei tai, and putting your opponent off it scores. Very few striking disciplines reward controlling space that literally.
What the shorts look like
Red and black dominant with a texture effect. On the right leg, a white fighter silhouette mid-kick. Around it, large red CHINA POWER lettering, the line THE ART OF FIGHT, a very large MUAY THAI in red repeated in Thai characters at the hem, and laurel wreaths. The left leg is a denser red with vertical lettering.
Clean side slits. Sublimated print.
Two disciplines on one short
The short carries two claims: CHINA POWER across the upper thigh and MUAY THAI in very large letters, repeated in Thai characters at the hem. That is not a contradiction on the rail: sanda and Muay Thai share most of the standing repertoire — hands, kicks, knees — and meet regularly on the same international cards.
The central silhouette, leg extended in a kick, belongs to both. For the full detail of the fight short cut, see the grey geometric fight short.

Worth knowing: this is a short that names two disciplines. If you cross-train standing styles rather than specialising, it is the one that says so.
Getting the size right
European cut — take your usual size. Eight sizes, XS to 4XL, where most of the market stops at XXL on a fight short. The lettering is scaled per size and holds the same proportion from XS to 4XL. The drawcord takes up a change in waist measurement. In a groin guard, go one size up.

- To complete the kit: boxing t-shirts and boxing hoodies.

Frequently asked questions
What is sanda?
The full-contact form of Chinese wushu, also called sanshou. It combines punches and kicks with throws and sweeps, and it is fought on a raised platform, the lei tai, where putting an opponent off the edge scores.
What is the difference between MMA shorts and boxing shorts?
An MMA short is built for the ground as well as the feet. It runs longer, to just above the knee, with a side slit on each leg so a closed guard and a leg pass do not bind the hip, and a flat drawcord waistband that stays tied when an opponent pulls on it. Boxing shorts have none of that.
Do these fit true to size?
Yes. European cut — take your usual size. Eight sizes run XS to 4XL. The drawcord takes up a change in waist measurement. If you train in a groin guard, go one size up.
Does the print wear off in the wash?
No. The design is sublimated into the fibre rather than laid on top of it, so there is no layer to crack or peel on the mat. Wash inside out at 30 °C / 86 °F and skip the fabric softener.
Do these come in big and tall sizes?
Yes, up to 4XL. Most of the market stops at XXL on a fight short.
How do you wash MMA shorts?
Machine wash inside out at 30 °C / 86 °F, no tumble dryer, and no iron on the design. Avoid fabric softener: it coats the weave and slows how fast sweat moves through it.
