Mike Tyson on the ropes tee
-
- Regular price€29,00

The essentials: Tyson photographed inside the ring, red gloves hanging at his sides, leaning into the ropes. The facial tattoo dates the scene to after 2003: this is the fighter of the second half of the career. Black and white photograph, gloves left in colour, TYSON in capitals above. Premium cotton 180 gsm, crew neck, heat transfer print. Black, 7 sizes S to 4XL, €29, free shipping.
The only tee in the Tyson range where the fighter is inside the ring, ropes visible behind him.
The 1995 comeback
Tyson left prison in March 1995 after three years inside. He had not boxed for four years, and he was twenty-eight.
The return was quick: two early wins in 1995, then the WBC title taken back from Frank Bruno in March 1996, stopped by the referee in the third round. He added the WBA six months later against Bruce Seldon, in 109 seconds.
Then came the two fights with Evander Holyfield — November 1996 and June 1997 — that closed the chapter.
That is the Tyson in this photograph: heavier, tattooed, back.
What it looks like on
A vertical composition running the full height of the chest.
At the top, TYSON in large grey capitals, no outline.
Below it, a photograph of Tyson from the waist up, in the ring: bare chested, dark shorts, arms at his sides, red gloves closed. He faces the camera, turned slightly, looking into the lens. Behind him the ring ropes run across the frame.
Body and background are treated in black and white, the gloves keeping their red — the only colour in the image. A tattoo is visible on the right arm.
The photograph is cut out with no border: the ring behind him melts into the black of the fabric.
Premium cotton, crew neck, short sleeves, straight cut. Plain back.

Frequently asked questions
When was the photograph taken?
In the second half of his career. The tattoo on the arm and the build place the scene after the 1995 comeback, not around the first title in 1986.
Did Mike Tyson become champion again after prison?
Yes. Released in March 1995 after three years, he took the WBC title back from Frank Bruno in March 1996 on a third-round stoppage, then added the WBA six months later against Bruce Seldon in 109 seconds.
How many times did Tyson fight Holyfield?
Twice: in November 1996, when Holyfield won by eleventh-round stoppage, and in June 1997, when Tyson was disqualified. Those two nights closed his comeback period.
Why are the gloves the only thing in colour?
It is selective colour: body, shorts and ropes are black and white, and only the gloves keep their red. The eye goes straight to the hands.
Does it come in big sizes?
Yes, up to 4XL: S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL and 4XL, all at the same price. Most boxing tees on the market stop at XXL.
Which size should I take?
Standard European cut: take your usual size. Chest runs from about 96 cm / 38 in on a S to 132 cm / 52 in on a 4XL.
