The detail in the drawing
ALI is set in large, fine capitals. The I does not stop at the baseline: it carries on as a lace, with two line-drawn boxing gloves hanging from it. Letter and object are one shape.
To the left, in small capitals, MUHAMMAD tucks in under the crossbar of the A — it completes the name without taking any room.
Everything is fine line, with no fills: the gloves are outlines, the lace is a single stroke. That is what makes the artwork wearable anywhere.
What it looks like on
The print is small and set high on the chest, slightly off to the right. It does not run down onto the stomach and it does not fill the torso: from a distance you see a plain tee with some lettering on it.
The yellow carries on all three colourways, all mid to dark: royal blue, black, heather grey.
