Shakur Stevenson t-shirt

The essentials: his mother named him after Tupac Shakur, killed a few months before he was born — hence the format of this tee, a 1990s rap tee: chrome lettering and a photo collage. World champion in four divisions, unbeaten. Premium cotton 180 gsm, crew neck, heat transfer print. Black, men's or women's cut, 7 sizes S to 4XL, €29, free shipping.
This tee uses the 1990s bootleg format, the one from tour shirts sold outside concerts — name in chrome lettering, photo collage, everything on the same plane.
And that is not a designer's accident: this fighter's first name comes from a rapper.
Why he is called Shakur
Shakur Stevenson was born on 28 June 1997 in Newark, New Jersey. A few months earlier, Tupac Shakur had been killed. His mother named him after the rapper.
Which is what makes this artwork right: the tee puts SHAKUR above STEVENSON, and larger. The first name dominates the surname, and the format of the garment — rap merch — answers what the first name is saying. Form and subject say the same thing.
The fighter nobody can hit
Stevenson is not a puncher, and the numbers say so: 25 fights, 25 wins, but only 11 inside the distance. Fewer than half by knockout, where the stars of his generation sit well above that.
His method is elsewhere. A southpaw, he wins through distance management and a defence his opponents cannot get through. He takes no risks, he does not get caught, and he runs the fight.
The number that sums up his style: in November 2023, his WBC lightweight title fight against Edwin De Los Santos broke a thirty-eight-year-old CompuBox record — for the fewest punches landed in a twelve-round fight. Neither man could touch the other. The crowd hated it; Stevenson won and took the belt.
Shakur Stevenson
- Olympic silver at Rio 2016 at bantamweight, for the United States. Professional the following year.
- World champion in four weight divisions: featherweight in 2019, super featherweight in 2021 and 2022, lightweight in 2023, then light welterweight on 31 January 2026 at Madison Square Garden, at the expense of Teofimo Lopez.
- Unbeaten: 25 wins, no losses, 11 inside the distance.
- He fights regularly at home, at the Prudential Center in Newark — hence the name of the city on the artwork.
- His reputation has earned him an unofficial title in the trade press: the fighter other fighters avoid.
Two cuts
This listing comes in a men's cut and a women's cut, same artwork, same black colourway, same size range. The selector asks for the cut before the size.
What it looks like on
The whole thing forms a centred vertical block on the chest, taller than it is wide. SHAKUR opens in very large chrome capitals, slightly arched, with relief and a dark outline; STEVENSON closes at the bottom, same treatment, slightly smaller.
Between them, a circular collage of overlapping colour photographs: head-on portraits, poses with belts, ring scenes, gloves raised. On the right, an SS monogram crest and the word NEWARK. The images have ragged edges and no common frame: the montage is the composition.
On black, the chrome of the two lines frames the coloured mass of the collage: the eye reads the name, then goes into the photographs.
It is a talkative tee, in the good sense: it tells a whole career in one image, where the other listings in the catalogue pick a single moment.
Premium cotton, crew neck, short sleeves. Plain back.
The detail that matters: the photographs come from different sources and different years and share neither resolution nor colour balance. That is the signature of bootleg montage: each image keeps the grain of the moment it was taken, and it is what makes a collage tell a career rather than a photo session.

Frequently asked questions
Is Shakur Stevenson named after Tupac?

Unbeaten: 25 wins, no losses, 11 inside the distance. World champion in four divisions — featherweight, super featherweight, lightweight and light welterweight, the last taken on 31 January 2026 at Madison Square Garden against Teofimo Lopez. He also took Olympic silver at Rio 2016.
What is his boxing style?
