14 cm: a signature, not wall decoration
At 14 x 13 cm / 5.5 x 5 in, this sticker does not go in the middle of a wall: it marks a changing-room door, a metal locker, a glove box, a laptop lid. The vinyl comes in black or white, coloured through the material, so on a dark door the turns of the wrap appear in reverse.
Before either, Greek boxers already wound leather thongs round their fists, the himantes, attested from the seventh century BC. The gesture in this drawing is close to two thousand seven hundred years old.
The design
A solid silhouette, framed from the crown of the head to the bottom of the elbows, face on. The figure has a shaved head and broad shoulders; both forearms meet at the centre of the composition. The left hand holds the wrap, the right is already covered: the turns of the wrap are left as white reserves inside the black mass, so they appear in negative, and the free length of the wrap hangs vertically out of frame.
No text, no props. It is a silent drawing, readable in full at fifty centimetres / twenty inches.

Why do boxers wear wraps under their gloves?
To gather the 27 bones of the hand — five of them metacarpals — and lock the wrist in line with the forearm. The fracture of the fifth metacarpal is called the boxer's fracture, which says what the wrap is for. The Marquess of Queensberry rules of 1867 made the glove compulsory; the wrap completes the arrangement underneath.
Does this sticker come larger?
Is the white really opaque on a dark surface?
Yes, the white vinyl is coloured through the material, not printed: on a black door or a charcoal locker the silhouette reads in reverse, the turns of the wrap then appearing dark.
Can it be repositioned after fitting?
The vinyl is peelable but not reusable: once removed it will not stick cleanly again. On an object, mark the position in erasable pencil before peeling the backing paper — the five-step fitting method avoids having to start over.
