Kickboxing works the whole height of an opponent. A bag built for it has to reach low enough for the leg and hold steady enough for the shin.
What the kickboxing format changes
The bag runs long, so low kicks, mid kicks, punches and elbows all land on the surface rather than on the edge. The triple-stitched seams are placed where a shin concentrates its force — which is the point a standard bag gives up first.

What do you fill a punching bag with?
Cut textile and rags packed down layer by layer, with sand or granulate in sealed bags at the base for more weight. Never loose sand: it settles and hardens.
What glove size for kickboxing?
14 to 16 oz with wraps for bag rounds. Shin guards are worth adding once you work kicks at full power.
