The uppercut is the punch a straight bag cannot teach: it slides up a vertical wall instead of landing. A teardrop gives it a surface to meet.
How teardrop work behaves
The bag hangs at chest-to-jaw height and swings on a short line, so it comes back quickly. You work the rising punch, the short hook on the curve and the straight body shot on the belly, and you have to reset between each — which is closer to a live exchange than a long heavy bag.
