A straight bag returns the same surface whatever the height of the strike. A teardrop bag has a low belly and a narrow top: the widest part falls at liver and solar plexus height, exactly where uppercuts and body hooks land. This one measures 65 x 40 cm / 26 x 16 in, hangs from straps and is made of PU leather. It is not the same tool as a speed bag mounted under a wall platform: this is a strap-hung bag, struck for power as much as for speed. It is one of the few pieces of boxing kit that a century has found no reason to replace, because nothing works the uppercut as well.

How to use it properly
Hang the bag at a height matching your chin in guard, knees slightly bent. The most common mistake is hanging it too high and working with the arms extended instead of keeping the elbows in.
- Single straight uppercut: fist travelling from below to chin level. Start slowly and refine the path before adding speed
- Double uppercut: right and left alternating
- Uppercut-hook: the uppercut lifts the imagined guard, the hook lands on a target already high
- Speed rounds: 30 seconds of maximum output while holding accuracy
