- The shoulder is free through its whole range — no fabric pulls when the arm comes up in guard or goes out in a straight
- Heat escapes at the sides, where a t-shirt holds it under the arms
- The movement stays visible — useful for correcting yourself in a mirror or being corrected by a coach
