Black and red boxing shoes

The essentials: low-top boxing shoes in black and red, closed by laces plus a hook-and-loop strap. Black mesh upper, matt red panels, BOXER printed on the side. Black sole with wide red plates. 14 sizes, EU 36 to 45 including half sizes. €69, free shipping.
Laces set the fit; a strap keeps it. Over a long session the lacing relaxes as the foot works, and the strap over the instep is what holds the heel in the counter when it does.
Two fastenings beat one
Lace the shoe as usual, then close the strap over the instep: the two systems work on different parts of the foot, the laces along the whole upper, the strap on the midfoot. It is the arrangement that keeps a pivot clean in the last round rather than the first.
What it looks like
Wide-mesh black upper, matt red panels on the toe, sides and heel, BOXER printed on the side. The outsole is black with wide red plates front and rear, a flex groove between them and a central disc under the arch. Seen from above, the lining is red.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose my boxing shoe size?
A boxing shoe should fit closer than a street shoe: no play at the heel, toes just short of the end. Measure your foot in the evening, when it is at its largest, and take your usual EU size unless you are between two — then size up.
Do you tighten the strap before or after the laces?
After. Lace the shoe to the fit you want, then close the strap over the instep — it locks what the lacing has already set rather than fighting it.
What is the difference between low-top and high-top boxing shoes?
The collar height. A low-top sits at or just above the ankle bone and leaves the foot free for pivots and footwork. A high-top wraps several centimetres up the calf and braces the ankle, which suits boxers who plant their feet to punch.
How do you clean boxing shoes?
A damp cloth on the upper and the sole after each session. Wash the laces separately by hand, air-dry with the insole taken out, and never on a radiator: direct heat stiffens the assembly glue.
Can you run or skip in boxing shoes?
Skipping, yes — the flat sole suits it. For road running, a cushioned running shoe is the right tool; a boxing sole is deliberately thin.
Do these boxing shoes come in blue?
Yes — the same build with royal blue panels and the same strap over the instep.
