The essentials: an outsider went fifteen rounds with Ali — Chuck Wepner, in 1975, and the film came out of it. Small ROCKY on the chest, large lettering across the back, contrast ribbing and hood lining. Two zipped pockets and a diagonal half zip: the plainest of the Rocky pieces, in 5 colours. 6 sizes from S to XXXL, European cut — take your usual size. €39, free standard shipping.
The fight that set it off
On 24 March 1975, in Cleveland, Chuck Wepner fought Muhammad Ali. Wepner was a part-time liquor salesman, nicknamed The Bayonne Bleeder for how easily he cut. Nobody gave him three rounds.
He lasted fifteen, even put Ali on the floor in the ninth — disputed since, real at the time — and was only stopped with nineteen seconds left. Sylvester Stallone was watching, and wrote the script that week.
The artwork
Front: ROCKY in small capitals on the left chest, discreet. Back: the same word in very large serif capitals with a worn texture, centred between the shoulder blades.
The print is monochrome. The ribbing at the cuffs, at the hem and inside the hood is in a contrasting colour.
The garment
Diagonal zip fastening, contrast lined hood, side pockets, contrast ribbed cuffs and hem. Fitted cut.

Frequently asked questions
Is Rocky based on a real fight?
Yes. Chuck Wepner lasted fifteen rounds with Muhammad Ali on 24 March 1975 and was stopped with nineteen seconds to go. Stallone watched it and wrote the script that week.
Why does the character only try to last?
Because that was Wepner's real achievement, and the film keeps it: the goal announced is to go the distance, not to win. The first film ends in a points defeat.
What sets this model apart from the other Rocky zip hoodies?
The diagonal zip and the contrast ribbing at the cuffs, hem and hood. The straight-zip version comes in seven colours; this one in five, with a fitted cut.
Is the print on the front or the back?
Both. Small on the left chest, large across the back.
What size should I take?
European cut — take your usual size, with no Asian sizing to convert. Six sizes from S to XXXL, all at the same price. Over training kit, go up one.
How do I care for the print?
Machine wash at 30 °C / 86 °F inside out, no tumble dryer, and never run an iron over the print. Heat transfer film holds for years on that routine and gives way to heat, not to washing.
