Smooth vinyl tatami is the reference surface for ground work. The vinyl skin wipes clean with a sponge and lets the feet slide when grappling or MMA calls for it. Underneath, a cellular latex backing anchors the panels and keeps them from creeping during a session.
Three layers built for daily use
A non-slip, washable smooth vinyl skin on top, a PU foam core that absorbs falls, and a cellular latex underside that grips the floor. The panel takes throws without deforming and stays where it was laid, session after session.
Which disciplines it is for
The smooth finish is designed for no-gi practice, where most of the work happens on the ground:
- MMA and grappling: the smooth surface helps transitions and the ground game.
- Wrestling and BJJ: throws and falls are absorbed, and the surface stays kind to the skin.
- Classes and clubs: quick cleaning, hygiene and durability day after day.

Which density to choose
The density of the core sets how firm the mat feels and how much it absorbs.
- 180 kg/m³ / 11 lb/ft³ — softer, well suited to children, schools and recreational use.
- 230 kg/m³ / 14 lb/ft³ — the reference density for judo and throwing disciplines: firm and stable.
Which thickness to choose
