UFC logo t-shirt

The essentials: a mark banned in around thirty US states in the late 1990s, now one of the most watched sports in the world — because the discipline agreed to give itself rules. This tee carries the logo alone, large. Premium cotton 180 gsm, crew neck, heat transfer print. 4 colourways, 7 sizes S to 4XL, €29, free shipping.
Most UFC tees carry a fight poster, an event date or a fighter's name. This one carries only the logo.
It is the model that does not date: it points to no past night.
A sport banned in around thirty states
The first UFC event took place in November 1993, in Denver. The concept was brutal: fighters from different disciplines — sumo, karate, boxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu — met in a cage, with no weight classes, no rounds and almost no rules. A Brazilian of 80 kg / 176 lb, Royce Gracie, won the tournament by submitting far heavier opponents.
The success was immediate, and so was the outcry. Senator John McCain called it "human cockfighting" and campaigned against it. Through the second half of the 1990s the UFC was banned in around thirty US states, dropped by cable networks, and came close to disappearing.
How the mark became respectable
What saved the organisation was the rulebook. In 2001, new owners bought the UFC and accepted what the founders had refused: weight classes, timed rounds, mandatory gloves, illegal strikes, a referee, a doctor. The Unified Rules of MMA came out of that.
That framework is what let the sport back onto television, get relicensed state by state, and become in twenty years one of the most watched sports in the world.
Wearing the mark alone today is wearing that history: a discipline that had to give itself rules in order to exist.
What it looks like on
The UFC mark is printed large across the chest, centred, in its slanted lettering. No secondary wording, no date, plain back.
That is what makes it wearable outside an MMA context: from a distance you see a block of type.
Premium cotton, crew neck, short sleeves, straight cut.
Four colourways, two logo treatments
| Colourway | Logo | How it reads |
|---|---|---|
| Black | White | Maximum contrast |
| White | Black | The only dark logo, the most graphic |
| Heather grey | White | The quietest, readable without shouting |
| Red | White | The most visible in a gym |
The detail that matters: the print is applied by heat transfer onto a PET film. On a large single-colour solid like this logo, that is what gives perfectly clean edges and full colour, with no lighter patches. The print stands up to wear and does not fade easily in the wash. Care: machine wash at 30 °C / 86 °F inside out, no fabric softener, no tumble dryer, do not iron the print.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between UFC and MMA?
MMA is the discipline — mixed martial arts, striking, takedowns and ground work. The UFC, short for Ultimate Fighting Championship, is a private organisation that promotes MMA fights, the largest in the world. Saying "he does UFC" is like saying "he plays NBA" instead of basketball.
Was the UFC really banned?
Yes. Through the second half of the 1990s it was banned in around thirty US states and dropped by cable networks, after a campaign led notably by Senator John McCain. Adopting a unified rulebook from 2001 — weight classes, rounds, gloves, illegal strikes, a referee — is what made it respectable.
When was the UFC founded?
In November 1993, in Denver. The first tournament put fighters from different disciplines against each other — sumo, karate, boxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu — with no weight classes and no rounds. It was won by the Brazilian Royce Gracie, one of the lightest men on the card.
Which colourways does this UFC tee come in?
Four: black, white, heather grey and red. The logo prints white on the black, heather grey and red, and black on the white — the only colourway with a dark logo.
How does it differ from the UFC fighters tee?
This one carries only the mark, with nothing else: it is the most neutral, and it points to no particular fight. The fighters model adds the full name and silhouettes: the artwork says what the sport is.
Which size should I take?
Standard European cut: take your usual size. Seven sizes, S to 4XL, with the chest running from about 96 cm / 38 in to 132 cm / 52 in.
