The nickname came from a trainer, not a slogan
Cus D'Amato took Tyson on at 13, out of a juvenile detention centre, and became his legal guardian. He taught him peek-a-boo: high guard, gloves against the cheeks, the upper body moving side to side without pause. It let a boxer of 1.78 m / 5 ft 10 in get inside the range of taller men.
On 22 November 1986, Tyson beat Trevor Berbick and became WBC world champion at 20 years and 4 months — the youngest in heavyweight history, a record that still stands.
The artwork
The print fills the whole height of the back. Down the left edge, IRON MIKE in capitals turned a quarter turn, from the shoulder blades to the small of the back, in heavy lettering with a worn texture.
On the right, across the remaining two thirds, the boxer: upper body pitched forward, shoulders drawn in, forearms held in front of him, eyes into the lens. Worked in white flats cut out of the black of the fabric — not a halftone screen but a high contrast print, with eaten-away edges.
The garment
Lined hood with a drawcord, kangaroo pocket, ribbed cuffs and hem. Straight cut, set-in long sleeves.

Frequently asked questions
What does the nickname Iron Mike mean?
It came out of the gym rather than from marketing: it describes the way he came forward behind a high guard, taught by Cus D'Amato, who took him on at 13 and became his legal guardian.
What is the peek-a-boo guard?
A high guard with the gloves against the cheeks and the upper body moving side to side without pause. It let Tyson, at 1.78 m / 5 ft 10 in, get inside the range of taller heavyweights.
Why is Mike Tyson the youngest heavyweight champion?
He beat Trevor Berbick for the WBC title on 22 November 1986 at 20 years and 4 months. Nobody has taken a heavyweight world title younger since.
Is the print on the front or the back?
Mainly on the back, which carries the full design. A smaller band is printed on the chest.
Does this hoodie come in large sizes?
Yes, up to XXXL, at the same price as the S. The cut is European, so there is no sizing conversion to apply.
How do I care for the print?
Machine wash at 30 °C / 86 °F inside out, no tumble dryer, and never run an iron over the print. Heat transfer film holds for years on that routine and gives way to heat, not to washing.
