The 160 x 200 cm / 63 x 79 in matches the dimensions of a standard double mattress: laid at the foot of the bed it covers two metres / six and a half feet of floor from wall to wall. The twenty designs run from the 60 x 90 walk-through size up to that bedroom format.

Backgrounds fall into three dominants: black on fifteen designs, red pop art on two, and three exceptions in cream, bottle green and navy. At three metres / ten feet a black design reads as a dark block and the white or red lettering is what catches the eye; at one metre / three feet the whole phrase reads.
Five sizes, and how not to get it wrong
The rule upholsterers use applies to any rug: it should overhang the furniture it serves by 20 to 40 cm / 8 to 16 in on every visible side. A rug too small, floating in the middle of a room, is the most common placement mistake. Here is what each size covers.

For a teenager's bedroom the two most requested sizes are the 120 x 160, which marks out a corner without taking the whole room, and the 160 x 200 laid under the bed. Those two are also where the lettering reaches full legibility from the doorway.
