Grey skull MMA shorts

- Regular price€39,00

In short: A helmeted skull in grey on grey, without a single accent colour. The most discreet fight short in the collection — the design only appears as you get closer. 8 sizes, XS to 4XL. €39.
A design that is there, but quiet
Almost everything on the MMA rail shouts: blood red, skulls front and centre, capitals, spatter. Plenty of regular practitioners want the opposite — a short that is just as technical but whose design does not announce itself.
That is what this model is for. The skull is there, drawn in full, but it is worked entirely in values of grey, so it reads as texture at distance and as a figure up close.
What the shorts look like
Grey through to charcoal across the whole surface, with a mineral texture effect. On the right leg, a helmeted skull in dark grey, surrounded by stylised volutes and flames. No accent colour: the design reads purely through contrast of values.
The waistband is charcoal. Clean side slits. Sublimated print.
A design read in values, not in colours
With no accent colour, the skull is separated from its ground only by a difference in grey. That is a deliberate graphic constraint: the drawing has to hold on the gap between a light grey and a charcoal alone.
In practice, at three metres you see a textured grey short; at one metre the skull appears. For the full detail of the fight short cut, see the grey geometric fight short.

Worth knowing: if you train somewhere that frowns on loud kit, or you simply want a short you can wear to a class without it being the first thing anyone sees, this is the one in the range that does it.
Getting the size right
European cut — take your usual size. Eight sizes, XS to 4XL, where most of the market stops at XXL on a fight short. The mineral texture covers the whole surface and is scaled per size. The drawcord takes up a change in waist measurement. In a groin guard, go one size up.

Frequently asked questions
Can you wear these outside MMA?
Yes. With no accent colour and no lettering it passes as a plain grey training short, and the cut suits bag work, cross-training and conditioning as well as grappling. The side slits and drawcord waistband are what make it a fight short.
What is the difference between MMA shorts and boxing shorts?
An MMA short is built for the ground as well as the feet. It runs longer, to just above the knee, with a side slit on each leg so a closed guard and a leg pass do not bind the hip, and a flat drawcord waistband that stays tied when an opponent pulls on it. Boxing shorts have none of that.
Do these fit true to size?
Yes. European cut — take your usual size. Eight sizes run XS to 4XL. The drawcord takes up a change in waist measurement. If you train in a groin guard, go one size up.
Does the print wear off in the wash?
No. The design is sublimated into the fibre rather than laid on top of it, so there is no layer to crack or peel on the mat. Wash inside out at 30 °C / 86 °F and skip the fabric softener.
Do these come in big and tall sizes?
Yes, up to 4XL. Most of the market stops at XXL on a fight short.
How do you wash MMA shorts?
Machine wash inside out at 30 °C / 86 °F, no tumble dryer, and no iron on the design. Avoid fabric softener: it coats the weave and slows how fast sweat moves through it.
