The essentials: before it was a brand, Lonsdale was the name of the oldest championship belt in Britain — the one you had to defend three times to keep. This tee carries the lion logo and its red arc, one of the most recognisable emblems in boxing. Premium cotton 180 gsm, heat transfer print. 8 colourways, 7 sizes S to 4XL, €29, free shipping.
Some logos introduce themselves. This one does not have to.
The lion, the slanted lettering, the red arc: three elements anyone who has spent time in a boxing gym identifies in a second. It is a tee you wear for what it means, not for what it shows.
Lonsdale, a name that comes from the belts
Before it was a brand, Lonsdale was the name of a belt. The Lonsdale Belts, created in the early twentieth century to reward British champions, carry the name of Lord Lonsdale, a figure of English sport at the time.
Their distinctive rule stayed famous: a boxer had to defend the title three times to keep the belt for good. You did not win it in a single fight — you earned it over time.
The clothing brand was founded in London in 1960, by a man from the boxing world. It outfitted the gyms first, then the rings, before leaving the sport behind: through the 1970s and 1980s the lion became a marker of the English street, worn well beyond boxers.
That double belonging is its strength today: authentically boxing, durably streetwear.
What it looks like on
The lion takes the top of the artwork, in profile, as a solid black silhouette. Beneath it, LONSDALE in very heavy slightly slanted capitals, set on a red arc, then LONDON small.
Two colours only, black and red, which is why it works across all eight colourways: the red catches the eye, the black gives structure, and neither depends on the shade of the tee.
Premium cotton, crew neck, short sleeves, straight cut. Plain back.
Eight colourways
| Family | Colourways | What it gives |
|---|---|---|
| Light | White, heather grey, beige | Closest to the original logo, maximum legibility |
| Dark | Navy, green | The red stands out more, a plainer whole |
| Bright | Red, royal blue, yellow | Club jersey spirit, the black of the lion cuts clean |
To choose: white for the absolute classic, navy if you want it quieter, red or yellow for the sporting look.
The detail that matters: the print is applied by heat transfer onto a PET film. On a brand logo, fidelity is everything: the process gives a dense red and a lion silhouette with hard outlines. The print stands up to wear and does not fade easily in the wash. Care: machine wash at 30 °C / 86 °F inside out, no fabric softener, no tumble dryer, do not iron the print.

Frequently asked questions
What is on the logo?
A lion in profile as a solid black silhouette, LONSDALE in heavy slanted capitals set on a red arc, and LONDON small beneath. Two colours only.
Which colourway should I choose?
White for the absolute classic, navy if you want it quieter, red or yellow for the sporting look. Because the logo is black and red, it works on all eight grounds.
How does it differ from the monochrome Lonsdale tee?
The arc. Here it is red, as on the original emblem. On the monochrome model it takes the same tone as the rest, and the logo reads as a single graphic mark.
Does it come in big sizes?
Yes, up to 4XL: S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL and 4XL, in all eight colourways at the same price. Most boxing tees on the market stop at XXL.
Which size should I take?
Standard European cut: take your usual size. Chest runs from about 96 cm / 38 in on a S to 132 cm / 52 in on a 4XL.
