The essentials: the official UFC outfitter since 2021 — and a French brand, started in a flat in the Paris suburbs, that the world spent years believing was Brazilian. This tee carries the snake head and a second logo on the sleeve. Premium cotton 180 gsm, heat transfer print. 3 colourways, 7 sizes S to 4XL, €24, free shipping.
It is probably the most recognised logo in combat sports anywhere. And almost nobody knows it is French.
Venum, the French brand that outfits the UFC
Since April 2021, Venum has been the official UFC outfitter. Every fighter who walks into the octagon wears the brand — it took over from Reebok on the biggest stage in world MMA.
It was founded by Franck Dupuis, a former karateka, from a flat in the Paris suburbs. He had started an equipment retail site in 2004, then created his own brand two years later, having failed to find the quality he was looking for elsewhere.
The misunderstanding the brand let run for years: because MMA at the time was dominated by Americans and Brazilians, Franck Dupuis set up production in Brazil and sponsored Brazilian fighters such as Wanderlei Silva and José Aldo. The result: for years, the world believed Venum was a Brazilian brand. It has never stopped being French.
What the logo says
The name comes from venom. The symbol is a snake's head, mouth open, fangs out, reduced to a few strokes.
It is a deliberately aggressive signature, and that is what made it work: in a gym you identify it from across the mat without reading the name. The lettering under the logo carries the same idea — the stems of the M and the U end in fang points.
What it looks like on
The artwork sits at the centre of the chest and leaves the rest of the tee empty, with a second, smaller logo on the right sleeve — the detail that separates this model from a plain single-logo tee.
The print is a single-colour flat: one ink, no gradient. That is what gives the snake its hard outline and makes it readable at distance — a logo that reads as a pictogram.
Unlike the full-surface print models, this stays a logo tee: it works for training and for the rest of the day.
Premium cotton, crew neck, short sleeves, straight cut. Plain back.
Colourways
| Colourway | What it gives |
|---|---|
| Black | White logo on black: the sharpest contrast, and the colourway that goes anywhere |
| Red | White logo on bright red: the most visible of the three, the one you spot in a gym |
| White | Black logo on white: the reversed version, the most summery and the quietest at distance |
The detail that matters: the print is applied by heat transfer onto a PET film. That is particularly useful on the sleeve, an area that folds constantly: the print stands up to wear and does not fade easily in the wash. On the body it gives the snake perfectly cut fangs. Care: machine wash at 30 °C / 86 °F inside out, no fabric softener, no tumble dryer, do not iron the print. Wash the white separately the first few times.
