Rocky III was released in 1982. It is the film where the champion has settled into comfort and gets called out by a challenger with nothing to lose: Clubber Lang, played by Mr. T.
Asked for his prediction for the fight, Lang answers in two words: "Dead meat."
It was Mr. T's first significant role; the following year he moved on to the television series that made him famous. His mohawk and his fixed stare became inseparable from the character.
It is also the film that introduced Eye of the Tiger, written specially for the soundtrack.
