Cotton hand wrap single

- Regular price€6,00

The essentials: a cotton boxing hand wrap of 3 metres / 118 in, sold singly. Soft on the skin, light and supple, it holds the wrist, protects the metacarpals and absorbs sweat before it soaks into the foam of your gloves. 5 colours: black, white, red, blue, yellow. Machine washable, quick drying. €6, free standard shipping.
The wrap is the cheapest item in your bag and one of the most important. It binds the metacarpals, locks the wrist and spreads impact across the whole hand rather than onto two joints. Striking without wraps, even in good gloves, exposes the thinnest bones in the hand directly — and it is one of the first causes of injury among beginners. This one is 3 metres / 118 in of soft cotton, sold singly in 5 colours.
Sold singly: you need one wrap per hand. For regular use, order two, or go straight to our pair with a storage pouch.
Why cotton
Cotton absorbs sweat instead of sending it back into the glove. That is why a pair of gloves used with wraps lasts far longer than a pair worn on bare hands: sweat attacks the stitching and the foam from the inside, not the outside.
The wrap itself machine washes and dries fast. It is a simple consumable, replaced without regret when it stretches.

Wrapping properly
- Thumb out, hand open while wrapping: wrap with a closed fist and everything tightens the moment you open the hand.
- Start at the wrist, work up over the metacarpals, then come back down to lock the wrist.
- Neither too tight nor too loose: you should be able to close the fist without discomfort and still feel your fingers. Pins and needles mean it is too tight.
- Air dry them after the session, never rolled up damp at the bottom of the bag.
- Wash them regularly in the machine, in a net so they do not tangle.

Frequently asked questions
Is this wrap sold on its own or in a pair?
On its own. Since you need one wrap per hand, order two for regular use. If you prefer a ready-made set, our pair comes with a storage pouch.
Is 3 metres the right length?
It is a versatile length, suited to most hands and to a classic wrist-and-metacarpal wrap. Longer formats, 4 to 5 m / 157 to 197 in, allow extra passes between the fingers and more turns at the wrist: they mainly suit large hands and heavy hitters.
What do hand wraps actually do?
Three things. They bind the metacarpals so impact spreads across the whole hand. They lock the wrist so it does not fold back on impact. And they absorb sweat, which markedly extends the life of the gloves. The glove cushions, the wrap holds: the two do different jobs.
How do you wash boxing hand wraps?
In the machine, ideally in a net so they do not tangle with the rest of the laundry. They air dry quickly. Avoid the tumble dryer, which tires the fibres and shortens the life of the wrap.
When should wraps be replaced?
As soon as they stretch and no longer hold their tension, or the hook-and-loop stops gripping firmly. A wrap that has lost its hold no longer protects the wrist, even if it looks intact. It is a consumable: better to keep several in rotation.
Do wraps go under boxing gloves or MMA gloves?
Under both. In MMA they matter more, not less: with far less padding, it is the wrap that holds the wrist. Prefer a short wrap there, since a 4.50 m / 177 in wrap builds too much thickness inside a close-fitting mitt.
