What the label says
The label stitched to the cuff carries three lines readable up close: EVERLAST inside the hourglass shield, EST. 1910 beneath it, and NEW YORK on the bottom line. It is the full crest of the brand, not just the name lifted off it.
That date matters for a reason rarely pointed out: it places Everlast before most of the modern rules of amateur and professional boxing. Equipment standardised across the twentieth century around makers already in business, and the yellow shield has been part of that scenery for over a century, which is why it is picked out instantly in a gym, even across the room.
What is on the beanie
Vertical ribbed knit, wide folded cuff. The white label is stitched at the centre of the cuff with visible edge stitching, carrying the shield in yellow outlined in black. On the navy, the label's white background picks up a lavender cast: white catching the tone of the knit around it.
The four colours run from darkest to lightest: black, navy, grey and light grey. The shield is at its highest contrast on the black and the navy; on the light grey it is the yellow that carries the reading at a distance.

The tip: for a run in cold weather, unfold the cuff by one turn: the height goes from 21.5 to 28.5 cm / 8.5 to 11.2 in and the knit then covers the nape as well as the ears. For the gym, keep it folded - the beanie sits high on the forehead and does not slip when you slip a punch.

Frequently asked questions
What size is the Everlast beanie?
One size. Flat it measures 21 cm / 8.3 in wide, and the ribbed knit then stretches both ways. The height is set by the number of cuff turns: 21.5 cm / 8.5 in folded, 28.5 cm / 11.2 in unfolded.
Is the Everlast shield embroidered or printed?
It is a rectangular label stitched to the cuff, with the shield printed on it and the edge stitching visible. The shield carries EVERLAST, EST. 1910 and NEW YORK.
What is the difference between a turn-up beanie and a long beanie?
The folded cuff lays a double thickness of knit over the ears and forehead, for a height of 21.5 cm / 8.5 in. A long beanie falls on the nape with no cuff, at 28 cm / 11 in. Both builds are measured out on our house models.
Does this beanie suit women?
Yes, the cut is unisex and the size is one size. With long hair, unfold the cuff by one turn: the extra volume avoids a compression mark on the forehead.
How do you wash a beanie without stretching it?
Hand wash cold, no spin, then dry flat. A beanie hung up or put through a tumble dryer stretches out and loses the hold that keeps it over the ears. Do not iron the label.
Which colour shows the shield best?
The yellow shield reads strongest on the black and the navy. On the two greys it is the white label that carries the contrast, with a softer reading.
