At what body weight does an extra heavy bag become worth it?
From around 80 kg / 176 lb, and sooner if you hit hard. Below that, a 40 to 50 kg bag already gives enough resistance.
What anchor point does a 60 kg bag need?
A fixing rated for several times the static weight, because striking multiplies the load: a load-bearing beam, a concrete slab or a stand sized for it. Plasterboard is not suitable.
Can you still work on technique on an extra heavy bag?
Yes. A bag that stays put is easier to place shots on precisely; it is footwork drills around a swinging bag that call for a lighter model.
How do you fill a punching bag yourself?
Cut textile and rags packed down layer by layer for the body of the bag, with sand or granulate in sealed bags at the base if you want more weight. Never loose sand: it settles and hardens.
