The essentials: free standing speed bag on an adjustable telescopic base, in first-quality PU leather. Base filled with water or sand, zero fixing. Speed, accuracy and reflexes — the companion to a heavy bag. €149. Free shipping.
A heavy bag teaches you to hit. A speed bag on a post teaches you to hit something that moves — and to be somewhere else when it comes back.
Why it teaches so much
The ball returns on its own line and its own rhythm. You cannot muscle it: you have to time it, keep your guard up between shots and reset your feet. Ten minutes of it sharpens what an hour of heavy bag work does not touch.
Adjustable base and post
The base takes water or sand and the post adjusts, so the ball sits at head height for you and can be dropped for a shorter user.

Frequently asked questions
Do you need gloves for a speed bag?
Wraps at minimum, and light gloves or bag mitts if you work long rounds. The ball comes back fast and the knuckles take a lot of small repeated contacts.
How long should a speed bag session last?
Five to fifteen minutes is enough: it is a precision and timing drill, not a conditioning one. Most boxers use it to open or close a session.
Is a speed bag suitable for a complete beginner?
Yes, and it is one of the fastest ways to learn to keep the guard up between shots. Expect a few sessions before the rhythm settles.
Can you practise on a speed bag alone?
Yes — the ball returns by itself, so it is a solo drill by design.
What height should a free standing bag be set to?
Ball centre at your own head height in guard.
What is the difference between this and a platform speed bag?
A platform speed bag is an inflated ball under a board fixed to a wall, worked in a fast rolling rhythm. This one stands on a ballasted post, returns on a longer line and is worked like a moving opponent.
