Rocky Balboa piped polo

- Regular price€29,00

The essentials: a button-placket polo, printed front and back: small ROCKY logo on the chest, large lettering across the back, with the arms-raised figure in place of the O. The body is cut in diagonal panels in three tones. Premium cotton 180 gsm, heat transfer print. 4 colourways, 6 sizes S to XXXL, €29, free shipping.
The series on a collar rather than a t-shirt: one of only two polos in the catalogue.
A collared garment, not a tee
The button placket changes what it is for: it works in places a tee with a big print does not — a relaxed office, a restaurant, an evening out.
The front print is deliberately small, where a brand logo would sit. It is the back that carries the large lettering.
The first film in the series came out in 1976, written by Sylvester Stallone when he was an unknown actor, and won Best Picture at the Academy Awards.
What it looks like on
The body — diagonal panels cross the front and the sides: three zones, in the main colour, in grey and in black. The lines run from the shoulder down towards the waist. The back is plain.
Front — ROCKY in small capitals, on the chest, in the classic logo position.
Back — ROCKY in large textured capitals, across the full width of the shoulder blades, with the arms-raised figure set into the O.
The collar — three-button polo collar, short sleeves with ribbed cuffs.
Premium cotton, straight cut.

Frequently asked questions
What is colour blocking?
An assembly of several pieces of fabric in different colours sewn together. Here, three diagonal zones cross the front and the sides — it is a construction of the garment, not a print.
Is the polo printed on the back?
Yes. The front carries a small ROCKY logo on the chest, the back a large lettering across the full width of the shoulder blades. Both faces are printed.
Can you train in a polo?
It is a town garment. For training, a technical polyester tee or a rashguard is the right choice. The polo carries the reference outside the gym, in a smarter register than a tee.
How does it differ from the other Rocky polo?
This one has a body cut in diagonal panels in three tones, a strongly sportswear register. The plain polo is a solid colour, more classic, in five colourways and up to 4XL.
Why is the first Rocky film still famous?
Released in 1976 and shot on a tiny budget, it won Best Picture and became the biggest hit of the year in the United States. Sylvester Stallone, then unknown, had written the screenplay and insisted on playing the lead.
Which size should I take?
Standard European cut: take your usual size. Chest runs from about 96 cm / 38 in on a S to 126 cm / 50 in on an XXXL.
