Skull hand wraps

The essentials: a pair of skull-print boxing hand wraps — one for each hand. White skulls printed on black along the whole length. Soft cotton, 3 metres / 118 in per wrap, light, hard-wearing and supple. Wrist hold, metacarpal protection and sweat absorption. Machine washable, quick drying. €15, free standard shipping.
A wrap stays visible through the whole warm-up, between rounds and every time you take your gloves off. It may as well say something. The skull print runs the entire length of the wrap: it shows from the first turns, and stays readable once the hand is fully wrapped — white skulls on black, across both 3 metre / 118 in wraps.
A hand wrap, not an accessory
The design changes nothing about the function. These wraps work like any other: they bind the metacarpals so impact spreads across the whole hand, lock the wrist so it does not fold back on impact, and absorb sweat before it attacks the foam of your gloves.
Cotton remains the easiest material to live with: it machine washes, dries fast and does not snag. It is a consumable, not a collector's item.

Wrapping properly
- Thumb out, hand open while wrapping: wrap with a closed fist and everything tightens the moment you open the hand.
- Start at the wrist, work up over the metacarpals, then come back down to lock the wrist.
- Neither too tight nor too loose: you should be able to close the fist without discomfort and still feel your fingers. Pins and needles mean it is too tight.
- Air dry them after the session, never rolled up damp at the bottom of the bag.
- Wash them regularly in the machine, in a net so they do not tangle.

- Camo wraps — camo in pink or khaki, in 3 or 5 m / 118 or 197 in, if you want to match the length to your hand.
- Pair with pouch — cotton, 2 wraps and a storage pouch in 7 colours, if you are kitting out in one go.
- Esprit Boxe wraps — semi-elastic nylon and cotton, if you want a constant hold with regular training.

Frequently asked questions
Does the print affect the wrap's performance?
No. The print is on the surface of the cotton and changes nothing about the weave, the length or the hold. These wraps work like any plain pair: bind the metacarpals, lock the wrist, absorb sweat.
Does the print run the whole length?
Yes. The skulls are printed along the entire 3 metres / 118 in, so the pattern shows from the first turns and stays readable once the hand is fully wrapped — not only on the visible end.
What do hand wraps actually do?
Three things. They bind the metacarpals so impact spreads across the whole hand. They lock the wrist so it does not fold back on impact. And they absorb sweat, which markedly extends the life of the gloves. The glove cushions, the wrap holds: the two do different jobs.
How do you wash boxing hand wraps?
In the machine, ideally in a net so they do not tangle with the rest of the laundry. They air dry quickly. Avoid the tumble dryer, which tires the fibres and shortens the life of the wrap.
Will the print fade in the wash?
Wash them in the machine at low temperature, in a net, and air dry. Skip the tumble dryer: heat is what tires the fibres and dulls a print, far more than the washing itself.
When should wraps be replaced?
As soon as they stretch and no longer hold their tension, or the hook-and-loop stops gripping firmly. A wrap that has lost its hold no longer protects the wrist, even if it looks intact. It is a consumable: better to keep several in rotation.
