Gervonta Davis gold t-shirt

The essentials: 1.66 m / 5 ft 5 in at lightweight, and the large majority of his wins inside the distance — a knockout ratio you see at heavyweight, not at that size. Hence the nickname: Tank. This tee carries an all-gold crest on black. Premium cotton 180 gsm, heat transfer print. 7 sizes S to 4XL, €29, free shipping.
One word sits in quotation marks in the middle of his name: TANK.
It is the only tee in the collection where the nickname is treated as an official signature, slipped between first name and surname the way it would appear on a legal document.
Why Tank
Gervonta Davis stands 1.66 m / 5 ft 5 in and fights at lightweight — divisions usually won on points, on speed and on movement.
He knocks people out instead. The large majority of his wins come inside the distance, a ratio you normally see at heavyweight, not on a fighter of that build.
Hence the nickname, picked up as a teenager in the Baltimore gym: a tank. Short, low, and impossible to stop.
Calvin Ford, the man who kept hold of him
That gym is the Upton Boxing Center, in a Baltimore Davis knew from foster care onwards — absent father, mother in difficulty, a grandmother who took the children in. He walked through the door at five years old.
The trainer is Calvin Ford. Off the streets, through prison, back to work with the kids from the neighbourhood; his life was the basis for a character in The Wire. He is still the trainer today, more than twenty years on.
In a sport where teams change with every contract, that is an anomaly. It is also what gives the EST. 1994 on the artwork its meaning: his year of birth, written as a founding date.
A crest rather than a poster
Five-pointed star, name in an arc, founding date, banner: these are the codes of a club badge or a seal, not a fight poster.
Applied to a boxer they do something specific — they turn a man into an institution. It is the only Gervonta Davis tee with no portrait at all, and the only one entirely in gold.
What it looks like on
On a black ground the gold does not read as flashy but as valuable: the result is closer to an engraved plate. It is a matte gold, dense and without shine — which is exactly what keeps it from glittering and gives it the look of a seal.
Black is the only colourway: gold only has depth on a dark ground.
Premium cotton, crew neck, short sleeves, straight cut. Plain back.
The detail that matters: the print is applied by heat transfer onto a PET film. That is what lets the fine strokes of the crest — the outline of the star, the arced lettering, the banner — hold as cleanly as the solid mass of the monogram. The print stands up to wear and does not fade easily in the wash. Care: machine wash at 30 °C / 86 °F inside out, no fabric softener, no tumble dryer, do not iron the print.

Frequently asked questions
Why is Gervonta Davis called Tank?
Because he hits like a heavyweight in a lightweight's body. Davis stands 1.66 m / 5 ft 5 in and wins the large majority of his fights inside the distance — a knockout ratio rarely seen in those divisions. The nickname came from his teenage years in the Baltimore gym.
How tall is Gervonta Davis?
1.66 m / 5 ft 5 in, fighting at lightweight. It is short even for the division, which is what makes the knockout ratio unusual.
What does EST. 1994 mean?
His year of birth, written the way a company writes a founding date. It is one of the badge codes the artwork borrows, along with the star and the banner.
Is the gold metallic?
No. It is a matte gold, dense, with no shine and no metallic sheen. The result is closer to an engraved plate than to glossy gold — which is what keeps it from glittering.
Does it come in other colours?
Black only: gold has depth only on a dark ground. For choice, the Undefeated model comes in nine colourways.
Which size should I take?
Standard European cut: take your usual size. Seven sizes, S to 4XL, with the chest running from about 96 cm / 38 in to 132 cm / 52 in.
