The recesses of the piece — the lacing, the stitching, the inside of the fist — are darkened with a patina, then the raised areas are polished back. That contrast, and nothing else, is what makes laces drawn strand by strand legible across 2.8 cm / 1.10 in: an evenly bright surface would flatten them.
Two gloves, one ring
The gloves are not soldered together: they are hung from the same ring by their laces and swing free. They cross and shift as you move, like a pair on a locker room hook.
The model is sculpted on every face: the round of the fist, the cuff banded with a ring, and the lacing woven at the top, strand by strand.
Gold, silver or black
Gold is the warmest and reads from furthest away. Silver sits with a steel watch or bracelet. Black ships with a matching black chain: the relief comes through purely as shadow, with no colour contrast.
A round box chain
