Look closely at the stripes: they are not painted on the surface. The enamel is laid into cells cut into the body of the glove, and the metal walls between each stripe stay visible. That is what gives the flag its relief, and what puts the colour out of the way of everyday rubbing.
The stars are metal, not paint
Same principle on the blue canton: the stars are not painted white, they are reserved in polished metal within the enamel. Depending on the finish, they therefore come up gold or silver against the blue — two quite different readings of the same flag, shown side by side in the gallery.
A row of crystals at the cuff
The cuff is ringed with a row of small set stones running around the glove just below the bail. It is the only bright element on the piece: it separates the bail from the enamelled area and gives light something to catch on an otherwise matte, coloured object.

Good to know: enamel cleans with a soft cloth barely dampened, dried straight after. Keep it away from alcohol, acetone and household products, which dull the colours, and away from ultrasonic baths, which work on set stones. The stainless steel body takes water and sweat.

Can the colour chip?
The enamel sits in cells cut into the metal, with visible walls between each stripe: the colour is set back from the surface and so is shielded from everyday rubbing, unlike paint laid on top. A soft, barely damp cloth is all it needs.

Yes, a 50 cm / 20 in rope chain matched to the finish, counted within the 30 g / 1.06 oz total. At 50 cm the glove rests below the collarbone.
