Oleksandr Usyk was born on 17 January 1987 in Simferopol, Crimea. He made the number his own and has worn it on the waistband of his fight trunks since he turned professional.
It has become a recognisable visual signature: in ring photographs the 17 is often the only readable element of his kit.

The artwork sits at the centre of the chest, in a vertical layout.
The 1 and the 7 are formed from columns of the word USYK, repeated in small capitals stacked tight. The letters follow the strokes of the number: vertical in the stems, grouped at the top to form the bars.
Only two instances are picked out in red — one in each digit — with the rest in charcoal grey.
