Italian Stallion is the ring name Rocky Balboa carries from the first film, in 1976, while he is still fighting club shows in Philadelphia. The print takes his roundel — the stallion head in flat white inside a circle, nostrils smoking, ITALIAN and STALLION curved around it — on solid black.
A two tone print
White on black asks for no colour matching: it sits on a grey sofa or on tan leather, next to a brass lamp or on pale wood. The roundel covers roughly two thirds of the face width: at three metres / ten feet you see a white disc, at one metre / three feet you read ITALIAN and STALLION. That ratio is what keeps it legible from 30 cm to 50 cm / 12 in to 20 in.

Which insert to buy
Take an insert 2 cm / 0.8 in larger than the cover so it stays taut and the roundel sits flat at the centre. The full cover-versus-insert guide and the square size chart live on our boxing cushion cover listing.
Good to know before ordering
This is a cover, not a cushion. The parcel holds the printed cover on its own; inserts are sold in every home store for a few pounds.
Printed on the front face. The reverse is plain, handy for flipping the cushion when you want the quiet side out.
FAQ
Is the cushion insert included?
No, the parcel holds the printed cover with its invisible zip. Buy an insert to the cover size, ideally 2 cm / 0.8 in larger, for a taut finish with square corners.
Why is Rocky called the Italian Stallion?
It is his ring name from the first film in 1976, when the character is still fighting club shows in Philadelphia. It is set here as a roundel: white stallion head in a circle, nostrils smoking, ITALIAN and STALLION curved around it.
What size cushion cover fits a standard sofa?
45 x 45 cm / 18 x 18 in is the standard sofa size in the UK and the US. 40 cm / 16 in suits an armchair, 30 cm / 12 in a desk or car seat, 50 cm / 20 in a large sofa or a headboard. The roundel stays legible in all four.
Is it printed on both sides?
One face carries the roundel and the reverse is plain, which is the standard on a decorative cover and lets you flip the cushion for a quieter room.
How do I wash it without damaging the print?
Machine wash at 30 °C / 86 °F, cover turned inside out, no bleach, then line dry. That keeps the white crisp on the black and the fabric on size, so the cover slips back onto its insert without a fight.
