In 1925 Jacob Golomb made a decision that changed how a ring looks: he replaced the leather waistband on boxing trunks with an elasticated one. The fighter gained range, the trunks stopped slipping, and the design became the world standard. Everlast was fifteen years old, and a swimwear maker had already turned into a design office.
It is that lettering, arced with the curve dipping downward, that takes the front panel here, in seventeen different versions.
The seventeen models
Seven caps carry the classic white logo on a plain ground: navy, pink, grey, red, sand, blue and black. The other ten keep a black ground and change the treatment of the logo: yellow chevron, gold chevron, red lettering, laurel wreath, gold crest, rose lettering, Electric crest, white lettering alone, orange chevron, or the logo set on a yellow oval.
What the lettering gives you
EVERLAST is set in tight capitals, slightly angled, across a width that runs the front panel from seam to seam. The brand chevron sits beneath the opening letters. At five metres the name still reads, and on the plain grounds the opening E runs out onto the side seam.
Cut and adjustment
Pre-formed curved peak with a white trim, soft 9 cm / 3.5 in crown, rear adjuster strap. The measurement table shared by every curved peak cap sits on the Canelo washed cap listing.

Worth a look
The Everlast snapback takes the brand onto a black and red flat brim. For other names written into the sport, see the Lonsdale cap and the WBC World Champion cap. Everything sits in the boxing caps collection.
Frequently asked questions
What size boxing cap should I get?
The rear strap covers 55–59 cm / 21.7–23.2 in. Measure with a tape about 1 cm / 0.4 in above the eyebrows, around the back of the skull over the bump, without pulling tight.
Which of the seventeen models should I pick?
The seven plain grounds with the white logo are the most versatile and go with anything. The ten black-ground versions differ by logo treatment: gold crest and laurel wreath for the most worked, white lettering alone for the quietest.
How long has Everlast been making boxing gear?
Since 1917, when Jack Dempsey asked Jacob Golomb for headgear that would hold up past fifteen rounds. The brand, founded in 1910 in the Bronx, was making swimsuits at the time.
What does the gold crest say?
SINCE 1910, THE BRONX NEW YORK NY and ELITE TRAINING ACADEMY, around a laurel wreath with three stars. It is one of the ten black-ground treatments, and the only one carrying the founding date and the borough.
How do you wash a boxing cap?
By hand, lukewarm water at 30 °C / 86 °F maximum, mild soap with no bleaching agent. Dry in the open air over something round to hold the shape. A machine drum crushes the pre-formed peak and breaks the white trim on the edge.
All seventeen models sit under the same listing: pick yours from the drop-down above.
