On 23 August 2017, three days before Mayweather fought McGregor, WBC president Mauricio Sulaimán unveiled the belt made for the occasion: the Money Belt. Italian alligator leather, 3,360 diamonds, 600 sapphires and roughly 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb of 24-carat gold. The title was not a sanctioned one; the belt very much was.
This cap belongs to the same register. The print runs across the whole crown and over the brim, with no plain panel, and the TMT logo is stitched on top of it.
The two patterns
In both cases the print is applied to the cloth and the logo is stitched over it, which gives two levels of reading: the pattern at a distance, the relief of the letters at a metre. The under-brim carries the same print, and a second TMT is stitched at the back above the closure.
