Summer 1996, the Atlanta Olympics. Floyd Mayweather, nineteen, boxed the featherweight tournament and came home with bronze after a semi-final the American delegation formally protested. He turned professional straight after, on 11 October that year, and did not lose a fight in twenty-one years.
This cap plays on that period: ecru front panel, washed rear panels and peak, exposed seams and deliberate fraying along the peak edge.
What the distressed finish gives you
The cloth is washed and abraded before assembly: the peak edge carries pulled threads and small tears, and the crown seams are lightened. The logo is printed white on the ecru panel — a soft contrast, readable at two metres where white on black carries to five. The cap arrives looking like a piece worn for several seasons, and every one carries its own marks.

Will the fraying on the peak get worse?
It is done at the mill on the surface cloth, with the internal structure of the peak left intact. Hand washing at 30 °C / 86 °F maximum and drying flat keep the original look. Avoid a machine drum, which pulls on the loosened threads.
What size cap should I get?
The rear strap covers 55–59 cm / 21.7–23.2 in. Measure with a tape about 1 cm / 0.4 in above the eyebrows, around the back of the skull over the bump, without pulling tight.
