On 14 February 1963 in Mexico City, eleven countries met at the invitation of Mexican president Adolfo López Mateos — the United States, Argentina, England, France, Mexico, the Philippines, Panama, Chile, Peru, Venezuela and Brazil — and founded the World Boxing Council to bring the world's boxing commissions under one roof. It is recognised in more than 160 countries today.
This cap carries that emblem: the band of member nation flags, the boxer at the centre, and the three letters beneath.
The emblem, near and far
The upper band lines the flags up as small coloured rectangles, the boxer silhouette takes the centre, and WBC sits underneath in underlined white capitals. At four metres you read the three letters and register the block of colour above them; at one metre the flags separate out one by one.
Cut and adjustment
Pre-formed 7 cm / 2.8 in curved peak, 17 cm / 6.7 in crown width, continuous rear strap. The peak edge is given an anti-abrasion finish. The measurement table shared by every curved peak cap sits on the Canelo washed cap listing.

The peak edge carries an anti-abrasion finish. That edge is the first thing to scuff on a cap set down brim-first, which is what everyone does without thinking on a changing room bench.
Worth a look
The WBC World Champion cap pictures the green and gold belt itself rather than the emblem. The WBC trucker takes that same belt onto mesh rear panels, and the Canelo crown cap moves from governing body to champion. Everything sits in the boxing caps collection.
Frequently asked questions
What does WBC stand for in boxing?
World Boxing Council. It is one of the four major professional sanctioning bodies alongside the WBA, the IBF and the WBO. It was founded on 14 February 1963 in Mexico City by eleven countries, and its belt is green and gold.
WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO — what is the difference?
Four separate sanctioning bodies, each awarding its own world belt per weight class. The WBA is the oldest, founded in 1921; the WBC dates from 1963, the IBF from 1983 and the WBO from 1988. Holding all four in one division makes you undisputed champion.
What size boxing cap should I get?
The rear strap adjusts continuously and covers 55–59 cm / 21.7–23.2 in. Measure with a tape about 1 cm / 0.4 in above the eyebrows, around the back of the skull over the bump, without pulling tight.
Whose flags are on the WBC emblem?
The member nations. Eleven countries at the founding in 1963, more than 160 today. The same band of flags runs across the championship belt, which is where the design on this cap comes from.
Which colourway works best with the emblem?
Black and grey let the flags read as a band of colour against a neutral ground. Green picks up the belt colour directly, and red gives the strongest contrast with the white lettering.
All four colourways sit under the same listing: pick yours from the drop-down above.
