The red disc is not decoration
The red disc standing in for the O is the Japanese flag. Naoya Inoue was born in 1993 in Zama, and has been called The Monster since he turned professional.
He won his first world title in his sixth professional fight, in 2014 — a progression almost nobody has matched. In December 2022 he unified all four bantamweight belts, and in December 2023, having moved up, he did it again at super bantamweight.
The artwork
INOUE in five very wide black capitals with cut serifs. The O is removed and replaced by a solid red disc, inside which the silhouette of a boxer in a guard stands out in white reserve.
