Hitting a ball that comes back is something anyone manages after a few sessions. Hitting a ball while avoiding a bar sweeping at head height is another drill entirely. That is what this wall station offers: two constraints at once, exactly as in a fight.
The rotating arm changes the drill
The arm pivots freely through 360° around the central axis. Every strike on the punching ball sets it moving, and it comes back at you: you then have to slip, duck or step back before landing another punch.
The point is to couple two qualities usually trained separately. Punching timing on the ball, and head movement to avoid the arm. A boxer who stays planted on his feet gets caught.
The two bearings on the axis give a smooth, silent rotation, with no tight spot to break the rhythm.
Height adjustable, mounted up or down
The central column adjusts over 47 cm / 18.5 in on clamping knobs, which covers the differences in height within a family or a club.
The wall arm also accepts an inverted mounting: punching ball facing up or facing down, depending on the ceiling height available and the layout of your room. That is what lets it go into a low garage as well as a room of decent height.
The reinforced spring at the head
The punching ball is mounted on a reinforced spring allowing around 90° of travel with a fast return. That is what gives the sharp rebound expected from this kind of unit, without the parasitic vibration of a rigid fixing.
The ball inflates with the pump supplied: pressure directly sets how lively the rebound is, since an under-inflated ball goes soft and imprecise.

What determines the load is the wall. The 5.45 kg / 12 lb of the structure says nothing about the real forces: every strike creates a jolt in cantilever at the end of a 72 cm / 28 in arm, which multiplies the pull on the anchor points. Aim for a load-bearing wall in concrete or solid block.
