The essentials: a complete reflex ball set. Four balls across two levels of difficulty, an adjustable headband with a metal ring, spare cords with their threading needle, and a drawstring storage bag. Supplied boxed. €25, free standard shipping.
The known problem with reflex balls sold singly is that after a few weeks either the ball has become too easy, or the cord has gone. Either way you buy again. This set covers both.
Four balls, two levels
The balls are identified by colour and marked with their level. The first two build the movement, the next two train reaction.
| Ball | Level | What it trains |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow | Beginner | Visual tracking, consistency of movement |
| Black | Beginner | Same use, better contrast against a light background |
| Green | Intermediate | Faster return, combinations |
| Red | Intermediate | Pure reaction, high cadence |
How to progress: stay on a beginner ball until you can string a full minute together without a miss, on both hands. Then move to intermediate, lengthening the cord at first to offset the speed. Changing ball mid-session raises the difficulty without altering anything else.
What is in the box
- 4 balls across two levels of difficulty.
- An adjustable perforated headband with a metal ring.
- Spare cords.
- A threading needle for passing the cord through the ball.
- A drawstring storage bag.
The spare cords change everything
On a reflex ball it is never the ball that gives out: it is the cord. It takes every strike, stretches, then breaks — usually at the knot or at the attachment point. With a ball sold on its own, the whole thing becomes unusable at that moment.
Here the replacement cords are included, along with the small needle used to thread them through the ball. That is the tool everyone looks for at replacement time and nobody supplies: without it the job becomes genuinely awkward.
Setting your reflex ball
This is the step everyone rushes, and the first reason people give up. A badly set cord makes the drill unplayable.
- Place the headband on the forehead, with the attachment centred between the eyebrows.
- Adjust the tension: the band should hold without pressing, even as you move your head.
- Set the cord length so the ball reaches your wrist, arm extended and fist closed.
- Lock the length with a knot, then tuck or trim the surplus.
- Shorten it as you go over the sessions: the shorter the cord, the faster the ball comes back.

Move up one level at a time. Accuracy is built at a moderate pace. A ball that comes back faster than your movement trains the flinch reflex; a well-matched ball trains the coordination.

Frequently asked questions
What is in the pack?
4 balls across two levels, an adjustable headband, spare cords, the threading needle for fitting them, and a drawstring storage bag, supplied boxed.
What do the ball colours mean?
The level. Yellow and black are beginner — black simply reads better against a light background. Green and red are intermediate, with a faster return.
When should I move up a level?
When you can string a full minute without a miss, on both hands, on a beginner ball. Lengthen the cord slightly at first on the intermediate to offset the extra speed.
Why spare cords?
Because the cord is the one real wearing part: it takes every strike, stretches and eventually breaks at the knot. With spares and the threading needle included, the set keeps working instead of being thrown away.
Is the pack suitable as a gift?
Yes — it comes boxed, with four balls, the headband, the spares and the bag. Nothing else is needed to start, whatever the level of the person receiving it.
How do you set the cord length?
So the ball reaches your wrist with the arm extended and the fist closed. Lock it with a knot, then shorten it session by session: the shorter the cord, the faster the return.
