In short: Heavy gold ornament in spread-wing shapes, a central star and gold chevrons down the leg. The most ornamented model in the collection, in 3 colourways. 8 sizes, XS to 4XL. €49.
Ornament is a tradition with a price attached
In Muay Thai the price of a short depends little on the fabric and a great deal on the ornament. High-end Thai models sell for a clear multiple of a plain one, precisely because every volute, every piece of embroidery and every applied panel takes work.
That hierarchy comes from what the garment is for. A Thai short is worn in front of a crowd, in a discipline where the entrance and the ritual dance matter as much as the opening round. The more worked the short, the more it belongs to the occasion rather than to the training session.
What the shorts look like
Three grounds: gold, pink and purple. On each, broad gold ornaments in spread-wing shapes cover the hip and upper thigh, outlined in black. A star sits at the centre, and gold chevron points run down the leg.
The wide elastic waistband is black with a gold trim. Satin finish.
Three grounds, one gold ornament
The spread-wing ornament is identical on all three colourways. What changes is how it sits against the ground: on gold the motif works tone on tone and the black outline is what draws it; on pink and purple the gold cuts clean.
Either way the coverage is the same, hip and upper thigh. For a lighter treatment with a single motif, see the black dragon short.

Worth knowing: this is the most worked short in the collection. It is kit for a card and a walk-out rather than for a Tuesday pad session, which is exactly how the heavily ornamented models are used in Thailand.
Getting the size right
Three colourways, one size grid: the fit does not change from one ground to the next. Beyond that, the point that causes most ordering errors: Thai-made shorts run small and most guides tell you to size up. Not here. This is a European cut — take your usual size. Eight sizes, XS to 4XL, where most of the market stops at XXL. In a groin guard, go one size up.
Also worth a look
- Star panel Muay Thai shorts — the same star in a plain white treatment on a five-panel cut.
- Plain Muay Thai shorts — gold flame scrollwork in nine colourways, if you want a lighter ornament.
- Black gold Muay Thai shorts — black and gold with MUAY THAI lettering, if you want text as well.
- To complete the kit: boxing t-shirts and boxing hoodies.
- To gear up: boxing gloves, mouthguards and hand wraps.

Frequently asked questions
Why are some Muay Thai shorts so much more expensive?
Because the price rests on the ornament rather than the fabric. Every volute, embroidery and applied panel is labour, and a heavily worked Thai model sells for a clear multiple of a plain one. The cut and the polyester are much the same across the range.
What size Muay Thai shorts should I get?
Take your usual size. These are cut to European sizing, so the standard advice to order one size up — which applies to Thai-made shorts — does not apply here. Eight sizes run XS to 4XL. If you train in a groin guard, go one size up.
What colours does this come in?
Three: gold, pink and purple, all carrying the same spread-wing ornament, central star and chevrons.
Can you wear Muay Thai shorts for boxing?
Yes. The short leg and high split take nothing away from footwork, and plenty of boxers train in them. The one difference is the low-blow line: boxing shorts mark it with a waistband above the navel, Thai shorts do not.
Do these come in big and tall sizes?
Yes, up to 4XL. Most of the market stops at XXL on a pair of Thai shorts.
How do you wash Muay Thai shorts?
Machine wash inside out at 30 °C / 86 °F, no tumble dryer, and never put an iron directly on the design. Skip the fabric softener: it coats the weave and slows how fast sweat moves through it.
