In short: A wide contrast waistband sitting high on the stomach, in the tradition of the English boxing short. 3 colourways: black, white or orange. 8 sizes, XS to 4XL. €49.
Why a boxing short’s waistband sits so high
On an English boxing short the wide band rising above the navel is not a styling choice: it marks the low-blow line. Hitting below the waistband is a foul, and that strip of fabric is the visual reference for the referee as much as for the two fighters.
It is the one piece of kit in combat sports whose position is dictated by the rulebook rather than by comfort, which is why it has barely changed in a century.
What the shorts look like
Three colourways: black, white or orange. The wide elastic waistband is worked in a contrast colour against the body of the short and rises high on the stomach. The leg falls below mid-thigh. A trim marks the hem. No print on the body. Satin finish.
Contrast waistband, and what it does in a bout
A waistband in the same colour as the short blurs into it under lights. A contrast band draws the line the rules care about, which is a practical advantage in a bout and the reason the treatment is standard on English boxing kit.
It also lengthens the leg visually, because the eye reads the short as starting where the contrast ends.

Frequently asked questions
Why is a boxing short’s waistband so wide and so high?
Because it marks the low-blow line. Hitting below the waistband is a foul, and the band is the visual reference for the referee and both fighters. It is the one garment in the sport whose position is set by the rulebook.
Do these fit true to size?
Yes. European cut — take your usual size. Measure the wide band flat, where it sits on the hip. Between two sizes, take the larger.
What colours are available?
Three: black, white and orange, each with a contrast waistband.
What is the difference with the plain boxing short?
This one has a wide contrast waistband that rises above the navel; the plain version has a same-colour band and side slits. This one is the competition-looking pair, the plain one the daily trainer.
