Alex Pereira Chama t-shirt

The essentials: the only known fighter to have been world champion in both MMA and kickboxing, and the first in UFC history to hold titles in two divisions. His nickname, Poatan, means "stone hands": the artwork takes it literally and gives him a moai head, standing in the flames of his own war cry, CHAMA. Premium cotton 180 gsm, crew neck, heat transfer print. Black, 7 sizes S to 4XL, €29, free shipping.
The artwork does not show his face. It shows stone. And that is not a designer's whim.
Stone and fire: the tee holds both nicknames
Poatan comes from an indigenous Brazilian language and is commonly translated as "stone hands". Alex Pereira carries it in reference to his origins: his family is connected to the Pataxó people.
Alongside that, spectators found a striking resemblance to the moai, the monumental statues of Easter Island — same jaw, same fixed stare, same total absence of expression before a fight.
The drawing fuses the two: it takes the nickname literally and makes the stone visible. It is no longer a comparison, it is the body itself.
And above it, CHAMA — "flame" in Portuguese. It is his cry, the one he throws with arms raised walking into the cage, echoed back by Brazilian arenas.
The concept, in one line: a man of stone standing in fire. Both of the fighter's nicknames held in one artwork — that is what separates this tee from a printed portrait.
The other stone hands
The catalogue holds a second. Half a century earlier, the Panamanian Roberto Durán carried the same nickname in Spanish: Manos de Piedra.
Two eras, two disciplines, two Latin American languages — and the same image for punching power out of the ordinary. Some phrases are only invented once.
Alex "Poatan" Pereira
- Born in São Bernardo do Campo, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
- He is the only known fighter to have been world champion in both MMA and kickboxing.
- In kickboxing he held two Glory titles at the same time, middleweight and light heavyweight — the only man to do it.
- At the UFC he became middleweight champion in November 2022 against Israel Adesanya, in only his fourth fight in the organisation. He had already beaten Adesanya twice in kickboxing, once by knockout.
- He then moved up to light heavyweight and took that title: the first man in UFC history to be champion in both divisions.
- In 2026 he vacated the light-heavyweight title to move to heavyweight and chase a third crown. On 14 June 2026 he came up short against Ciryl Gane for the interim belt.
What it looks like on
The artwork forms a centred vertical block covering almost the whole chest, from the top down to below the navel. On black, the oranges of the flames dominate and the grey of the stone cuts through at the centre: the eye goes to the head first, then travels down.
It is — an unapologetic fan tee, which works in the gym as well as at home in front of a fight. The drawing is a comic-book style illustration: stylised body, exaggerated muscle, statue head. It is a graphic choice, not a portrait.
Black is the only colourway: it is the ground on which the flames keep their saturation. Premium cotton, crew neck, short sleeves, straight cut.
The detail that matters: the print is applied by heat transfer onto a PET film. On a surface this large and this saturated, that is what guarantees solid oranges and clean flame gradients right to the edge of the drawing. The print stands up to wear and does not fade easily in the wash. Care: machine wash at 30 °C / 86 °F inside out, no fabric softener, no tumble dryer, do not iron the print.
