A belt made for one night
On 2 November 2019, at UFC 244, the promotion put up a title that belongs to no official weight class: the BMF. Jorge Masvidal beat Nate Diaz to win it in front of the Madison Square Garden crowd.
It is the only UFC belt created for a single fight, and its event number appears on the belt itself.
The belt
Real black leather with a ribbed diagonal strap. Octagonal centre plate in a brushed silver finish, carrying the three raised letters BMF on a fluted ground inside a faceted double frame. On the strap, two silver octagonal medallions: one engraved 244, the other 500. Snap-stud rows for fastening.
What the photograph will not tell you: this is the one belt here with no gold at all. Everything is silver, grey and black, medallions and studs included. From 3 m / 10 ft it reads as a dark mass crossed by a bright plate; from 1 m / 3 ft the fluting of the plate and the ribs of the strap appear. 127 cm / 50 in long, about 2.7 kg / 6 lb.

Buying tip: brushed silver shows fingerprints more plainly than polished gold. Handle the belt by the strap and run a dry microfibre cloth over the plate before photographing or displaying it: one pass brings the brushed grain back.
Event piece or title belt
Two collecting logics sit side by side. A title belt stands for a weight class and passes from champion to champion. An event piece like this one points to one date and one card: fans read it at a glance, and the engraved number places it without any explanation. The two complement each other in a cabinet.

Frequently asked questions
What is the UFC BMF belt?
A title created for a single fight, UFC 244 on 2 November 2019 at Madison Square Garden, won by Jorge Masvidal against Nate Diaz. It matches no official weight class.
Is this a replica belt?
Yes, a highly detailed full-size replica of the BMF belt, in real 3 mm leather with metal plates in a silver finish. It can also be personalised, which an official belt cannot.
What size is it?
127 cm / 50 in overall and about 2.7 kg / 6 lb, the size of a belt handed over in the octagon. Snap studs for fastening.
What do the numbers on the medallions mean?
The side medallions are engraved 244 and 500. The 244 refers to UFC 244, the card the BMF belt was created for.
Why is it silver rather than gold?
That is the design: plate, medallions and studs are all in brushed silver with no gold at all, which sets it apart instantly from the other belts in a cabinet.
How do I clean the silver plate?
A dry microfibre cloth is enough. Handle the belt by the strap rather than the plate, as brushed silver marks more visibly than polished gold.
