Tyson vs Ali canvas

- Regular price€19,00

The essentials: Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson face to face on one canvas, in black and white with red highlights — the gloves are the only colour — arms extended towards each other. A fight that never happened. Landscape format, 10 sizes from 20 × 30 cm / 8 × 12 in to 110 × 160 cm / 43 × 63 in. Frame sold separately. From €19 to €109 depending on size, free standard shipping.
They met, but never in a ring
Ali retired in 1981. Tyson turned professional in 1985. The fight on this canvas could never have taken place, which is precisely why it is the oldest argument in boxing.
The two men did cross paths. Tyson has told the story of meeting Ali at 14, while training at Cus D'Amato's gym: after Ali's defeat to Larry Holmes in October 1980, he promised the ageing champion he would avenge him one day in a ring. Six years later he was world champion. On paper everything separates them: 1.91 m / 6 ft 3 in and a 2.08 m / 82 in reach for Ali, 1.78 m / 5 ft 10 in and 1.80 m / 71 in for Tyson. Reach against explosiveness.
What you see
Landscape format, high contrast black and white with red highlights: the four gloves are the only areas of colour on the canvas. Muhammad Ali holds the left half, lead arm fully extended, the waistband of his trunks carrying the Everlast mark. Mike Tyson holds the right half, arm extended too, his second glove drawn back to the hip. The two leads cross at the centre of the frame.
The ground is a dark grey gradient with no setting, crossed by light spatter around the gloves. From 3 m / 10 ft you read two symmetrical figures and four red marks; from 1 m / 3 ft the two faces separate clearly.

Worth knowing: the landscape crop makes this one of the few canvases in the collection that sits over a sofa without leaving gaps at the sides. Over a three-seater, 100 × 150 cm / 39 × 59 in covers two thirds of the width. Frames are sold separately: wooden frame up to 100 cm / 39 in per side, XXL wooden frame from 110 to 200 cm / 43 to 79 in, or aluminium frame in 8 finishes.
Two figures facing off need width
The composition is strictly symmetrical: each boxer takes one half, and the balance goes if furniture masks one side. Plan a clear span — 80 × 120 cm / 31 × 47 in over a two-seater, 100 × 150 cm / 39 × 59 in over a three-seater. The size chart by wall type covers the other placements room by room.

Frequently asked questions
Did Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali ever fight?
No. Ali retired in 1981, Tyson turned professional in 1985. They met in person — Tyson has described being introduced to Ali at 14 at Cus D'Amato's gym — but never in a ring. This canvas is a composite, not a photograph of an event.
What size canvas should I hang above a sofa?
The working rule is about two thirds of the width of the furniture below it, centred 145 cm / 57 in from the floor. Over a 200 cm / 79 in three-seater, that means 80 × 120 cm / 31 × 47 in; over a two-seater, 60 × 90 cm / 24 × 35 in; in a hallway, 30 × 45 cm / 12 × 18 in. The full size chart by wall type is on the Ali vs Liston 1965 page.
Is this canvas landscape?
Yes, landscape on all ten sizes, from 20 × 30 cm / 8 × 12 in to 110 × 160 cm / 43 × 63 in. The size labels give the long side first.
Is there any text on this canvas?
No names and no title. The only readable text is the Everlast mark on the waistband and on the glove cuffs — equipment detail, not lettering added to the composition.
Does the canvas come with a frame?
No, the canvas ships on its own, rolled in a protective tube. Frames are sold separately: wooden frame up to 100 cm / 39 in per side, XXL wooden frame from 110 to 200 cm / 43 to 79 in, or aluminium frame in 8 finishes. The wooden kits are 2.5 cm / 1 in thick and come with instructions.
How do I clean a canvas print?
A dry microfibre cloth handles almost everything. For a mark that stays, use a barely damp cloth with no detergent, wiping across the surface. No abrasive sponge, no glass cleaner.
